STEVE WAS SHOCKED AT THIS POINT. He knew as soon as this kid surprised him when he walked through the almost destroyed door, that this was not going to be as easy as he thought it would.
Natasha was practically out of commission as she had been hit pretty hard by the bullet he had fired, Pietro had only just arrived and had already seen how dangerous he could be, and Steve had just seen him do something that he had only ever seen one other person be able to do.
He blinked as something slid down his shield in the soldier's hand and they all looked down as blood slowly dribbled down the shield. It was a small amount, but it could be seen if you looked close enough.
A single hum left the soldier's lips as he looked down at his bare hand and saw that the shield had cut into his hand. He looked up before he pulled his arm back and threw it back at Steve. As Steve caught it, multiple bullets were shot at both of them.
Pietro sped out of the way and easily dodged them, whilst Steve used his shield to block the bullets. Soon enough the bullets stopped coming toward them and Steve could hear in front of his shield, pounding footsteps coming toward him. Just as he dropped his shield to his side, a knife came down on him.
He blocked it with his wrist and continued to block the hits and the knife slashes as they came at him.
"Pietro-!" Captain America grunted as a knife came down on him, inches from his face. "Check on Romanoff, she got shot!"
Pietro had a brief look of panic on his face before he nodded and sped over to the crate that he was hiding behind. Natasha, whilst Steve was busy holding off the young hydra soldier, had decided to finally call for backup. Wanda, Thor and Tony were the only three who responded.
Clint had decided that staying up top was best, in case he tried to make a run for it. Natasha agreed that it was a smart idea as they needed to be prepared for what this kid could do.
Just as Pietro had gotten over to Natasha, he heard the spy's conversation she was having with the team over her coms.
"By the way, the guy we've been looking for?" She groaned as she held her side. "He's a kid. Around the same age as the twins, maybe younger."
Pietro had only briefly seen the soldier's face but even from that, he could see that whoever this was, was quite young. To be fair, Pietro and Wanda agreed to the experiments when they were quite young as well, but even he wanted to know how long it would've taken to brainwash him, train him and make him able to almost kill an Avenger.
Whilst Pietro helped Natasha, Steve continued to try and keep the soldier occupied so that the rest of the team could get there and help him. He wouldn't admit it, but this kid was beginning to wear him down, and Steve didn't know how much longer he could go keeping him distracted. He knew he was fighting someone who was probably given the same serum as him and Bucky, and the last time he fought someone with a supersoldier serum (aka Bucky), he almost lost.
