Rumour Has It

Tom:

'Tom Hiddleston's girlfriend of two years was seen with...' I didn't read on.

"Is it true that you slept with another man?" Someone asked.

"No, I would neve dream of cheating on a man so kind, loving and generous as Tom." I said.

"Then who I this?" Someone asked, showing a picture of me walking into the hospital with another man.

"That is my brother... I was visiting my father as he suffered a stroke... I refuse to answer anymore questions as all you seem to do is twist small stories in your hands to break celebrity relationships and friendships. Its not on. And I think its pathetic!" I spat, as I walked off.

I'm going to regret that in the morning when it is plastered all over the magazines.

When I got home Tom wasn't there.

Well I wasn't blaming him. He had a right to be angry. He had read the comments and believed what they had said.

I was slightly annoyed that him of all people had believed what they had said... But I couldn't really blame him. If he was in a similar situation I would have been mad at him.

The bed dipped that night as he climbed into bed. Missing dinner.

I felt him turn. But he turned away.

I silently wept to myself. I had this coming. I groaned. I missed his touch. His kisses. His arm wrapped around my waist and pulling me towards him until there was no room between us.

I missed it. And it was all going to be taken away from me. In a click.

I tried to fall asleep. It was harder than imagined...

I sat at the kitchen table drinking a cup of tea which I had just made when something was slammed on the table in front of me.

I looked up to see Tom.

I didn't even smile. I just looked at my tea and continued to drink it.

"Could you explain why you had a go at the press?" He asked

"Because they all twist lies in their hands." I said.

"_____, was heard snapping at a bunch of journalists yesterday afternoon, on a shopping trip with Tom's sister Sarah." He read. "She was heard saying 'I would never cheat on Tom... You like to twist pathetic stories in your hands that break up celebrity relationships and friendships."

I didn't bother looking up.

"Maybe we should... I don't think I can trust you anymore." He whispered.

I nodded as I placed down my unfinished cup of tea and ran out of the house, not wanting to let him see me in tears.

There was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it." Sarah shouted.

Sarah had come round when I told her what had happened. I was now staying at my brothers apartment while he was away in Spain with his fiancé.

"What do you want?" Sarah asked.

"I want to see her." A familiar voice said.

"You of all people listened to what the media had to say." Sarah said.

Tom.

"I didn't mean to... It just sounded so real." He said.

"You don't even know the whole story... I thought you loved her." Sarah said.

"What was the whole story?" Tom asked, a hint of worry in his voice.

"Her father was in hospital and her and HER brother were on their way to visit him. _____, doesn't like driving long distance... She was going to tell you but she didn't want to cry in front of you. She told me crying made her look weak, needy and pathetic." Sarah said.

"Please let me see her." Tom almost begged.

"Why should I?" She asked.

"Because I love her and want to see my girlfriend." He said, getting annoyed.

Sarah must have stepped aside because hurried footsteps where heard and arms engulfed me.

When they pulled back I saw Tom. He looked tired. But he still looked incredibly handsome. How does he do that??

"I'm so sorry... I should have listened to you." He said.

I shook my head.

"You aren't weak, needy or pathetic... I love you for who you are and I wish you would have told me." He said.

"How did you find me?" I asked.

"Hello magazine had a photo of you shopping here yesterday... And I remember coming to visit you whole family here." He said.

I smiled.

"I love you." He smiled.

"I love you too" I smiled, as he pecked my lips...
