Chris

My eyes heavy with sleep fluttered opened to the innocent giggles of my four year old daughter.

"Shush sweetheart, we don't want to wake mummy." Chris's familiar Australian accent flooded my ears.

"Good morning" I greeted, gently rubbing my eyes before I was tackled into a hug by small arms.

"Someone is very excitable this morning. What's the special occasion?" I asked, tickling my daughters sides causing a loud eruption of squeals and giggles.

Chris watched us with what I believed to be love in his eyes. A smile graced his handsome face as he placed the tray of breakfast on his empty side of the bed alongside a bouquet of my favourite flowers.

"Happy Anniversary my love." He smiled, pressing his lips to my forehead.

"Happy Anniversary mummy." My daughter whispered, the early rise catching up with her as her heavy eyelids begin to close.

"You didn't have to go through all this trouble..." I started, cradling my now sleeping daughter in my arms.

"This is our first anniversary. And many, many more shall follow this. I wanted to shower my girls in love, not just today but forever. I will never forget the first time she called me daddy. Or the first time you told me you loved me despite what you went through before you met me. I want to spend the rest of my life showing you both, and perhaps future children of our own. How grateful I am to be a part of this family." He smiled, leaning forward from his seat on the edge of the bed and kissed me.

"I couldn't ask for a better person in not only my life but this little ones as well." I smiled, watching him lovingly cup our daughters cheek and stroke it softly with his thumb.

This motion was enough to stir her slightly, "I love you daddy"

Chris beamed with pride.

.

"Chris?" I questioned bringing his gaze back to me.

He looked at me expectantly, with adoration.

"I'm pregnant."

Tom

It had been a hard six months for Tom.

He had watched the love of his life deteriorate in front of his eyes.

Growing weaker.

And weaker.

No medicine nor science could save his one love.

She had passed away too soon.

Too early for Tom to even will himself to say goodbye.

His heart broken.

His heart torn and divided.

He could feel the ache in his chest where his heart heated healthily.

But his heart wasn't his to keep.

He had given it to another, willing her to keep it.

And he was left empty....

.

Cold and empty.

.

Alone...

Tom stepped in front of the tombstone that poorly represented the beauty that lay beneath it.

A watery smile always graced Tom's face when he found the time to visit her grave, memories always haunted his mind.

Happy memories... Before they were replaced with cold hard reality.

He placed her favourite flowers by her grave, pressing a gently kiss to the marble tomb stone.

"I love you my darling. We were to marry. We talked about our future. But it was taken away from both of us.

Cancer is the worst, most hated disease of all.

It took you away from me.

But I shall fight. And I will ensure that people a year from now... Ten years from now... Or maybe even s hundred years from now will be able to fight and win against cancer. Male or female.

I will continue on your mission.

Your mission to create happiness... To remove evil.

Because my love for you will never fade.

And I will be joining you again soon when the world decides they are done with me too." He hiccups, tears streaming down his face.

"Today is our fifth anniversary. And today would have marked the time when you became Mrs Hiddleston. But you are and always will be my Mrs Hiddleston. My other half."

"I love you..."
