- Tom -
One life lost.
One life gained.
"Tom?" I gasped, my hand reaching for my stomach.
Tom sat in a daze almost staring at me. His gaze locked on my stomach.
"Tom!?" I almost shouted grabbing his attention.
"Yes.
You're right.
I'll -
Nurse.
Nurse.
I'll go get a nurse!" he spoke out before standing from his chair.
"Please don't leave me." I begged, reaching my other hand out to him.
"Of course not darling. I'm not going anywhere." he smiled reassuringly as he jogged to the door, wrenching it open he may have almost took it off of it hinges in his hurry, and stuck his head around the door looking for a nurse or doctor loitering in the hallway.
His slight presence in the room reassured me that he wasn't leaving me.
He wasn't leaving me like my father left the Earth.
One life lost.
One life gained.
I chanced a glance at my fathers cold, frail and lifeless body before I vomited.
"Oh darling." Tom cooed from the doorway as he turned back to look at me following the sound of my retching.
"I'm okay." I said, my hands shaking as I reached up to grab my father's closest hand.
"You're grandchild is coming Daddy." I smiled shakily, squeezing his hand gently.
"Nurse!" Tom called out suddenly.

"It's a girl." the midwife smiled, handing me a bundle of pink blanket.
"Tom. We have a daughter." I beamed up at him.
Tom look awestruck as his gaze locked with the bundle I now held in my arms.
"She's beautiful." he whispered.
"She has your eyes." I whispered back, as I stroked my thumb gently across my little girls forehead.
"She is beautiful." he repeated. "Just like her mother."
My heart swelled with love to the point I thought it would burst as I took in this moment.
Family.
"What should we call her?" he asked, his hands reaching out to hold our daughter.
"I was thinking Georgia. After my father." I whispered.
Tom looked at me, tears welling up in his tired eyes.
"George would love that." he smiled at me, love and adoration staining his handsome features.
"Georgia May Hiddleston."

"Look Daddy. It's your granddaughter." I spoke softly as I held my daughter in my arms.
Tom had left some while ago to grab my suitcase from home since I hadn't had time to bring it.
We weren't expecting our little miracle.
"She has Tom's eyes." I said, sitting on the chair beside his body.
He had been moved to a separate room in the hospital, in preparation for his autopsy.
"Her names Georgia." I spoke softly, watching my daughter sleep.
"After you."
I stood slightly at his side and placed my daughter on his chest.
"I love you Daddy. And I miss you so much right now it hurts." I spoke, tears running freely down my cheeks.
The door opened softly and I barely heard the door close as a figure stood on the other side of my fathers bed before I took a glance up.
"He would adore her." Tom spoke softly, reaching his finger out to hold our daughter's small fist.
"We are family." I whispered, my heart, mind and soul swelling with an unbelievable amount of love.
One life lost.
One life gained.
