Chapter 11: Into the rift.

Back in Ratchet's universe

Lincoln was in his room, trying to draw a random picture of him and Ratchet, but due to him being right hand and him unable to use it, it was a big struggle. Qwark has gave him some days of since he was still not just recovering, but he was also still grieving.

"I know you miss Ratchet, Forest. We all do..." a memory of him talking to Qwark in his office rang in his head, "he was a idol to all. But we can't gloat over his death all day, everyday. We got a job to do. So that's why I'm giving you some days off so you can get that cleared in your head. Just take all time you need, Link."

He still calls his parents, but only his mom answers the phone. His dad was no where to be seen. His mom said that he had to work, but Lincoln knew that she was lying. Besides, she and and dad lied to him his entire life. How can he trust them now?

*SNAP*

"CRAP!!!!" Lincoln yowls in frustration when the tip of his pencil broke. He then snapped the pencil in half and shredded the paper with a single bolt of his powers. He got out of his seat and began smashing stuff in his room, lightning shot everywhere as he yowled in pure anger and pain when he finished.

Link then sobs, shaking from his mental breakdown. But then, before he could destroy all of his drawings in his doodle book, A loose piece of paper slipped out the book. He take a look at the picture. It was the finished drawing of the female lombax from two years ago. He was there at that party and saw that lombax fighting and knocking out an even bigger alien. She looked tough for a girl and quite gorgeous, she would have been a better girlfriend for Ratch instead of Cleo, Cleo was an sociopath.

And speaking about Cleo, she, Clank and a grey fox-like dude who looks like his eye was blasted out by a war-bot decided to take over the plant. And worse of all, low and behold Dr. Nefarious was also there, of course. With his nemesis dead, There is no one to stop Nefarious now.

But then, something clicked. He had heard rumours about this mysterious female lombax being Ratchet from a alternate dimension. What if that's true? What if there is a alternate dimension? What if Ratchet wasn't dead, and that he only teleported to a different dimension while he fell?

He needs to see this theory for himself. All he needs to do is get the dimension making thing, possibly named the dimensionator, located in the GR base and go to that dimension and warn that lombax girl and, hope and pray, Ratchet about what's happening here, in this universe.

Sounds simple right?

Well, it's not.

For one, the dimensionator was in the GR base. THE GR BASE!!! If he gets caught, it's his job and dream on the line. And two, Cleo had made robot patrols all over the place. Once he spotted, he's a dead kratz. He may already be a dead kratz since he was on the freaking news, but he was desperate to save his home.

Ratchet would want his home, and family, to be safe, and Lincoln is gonna do it! Whatever it takes!

Lincoln packs some items that he may need: food, water, tools, anything. But he also took the lombax girl drawing just to have a good comparison of who he's looking for. After he finished packing he was off.

It only took him about two minutes to reach the GR base, only to hide behind some delivery boxes when he almost encountered one of Cleo's war-bot patrols.

When the patrol past, Lincoln emerges from his hiding place and looks at the GR base, searching for away in without being detected. He then sees a small vent beside the door. Link sighs, knowing that he has to embrace the fact that he was smaller than a typical Kraetsiz as he runs towards the vent and goes inside.

He was not sure about the pipes in the base so he has to use his best guesses. He takes several turns before a purple glow caught his eye. Link looks to his right, the glow was coming through a vent. Link opens the vent and hops into the room and saw that it was a nicely lighten room with several articles and artifacts on their shelves, some were in protective cybernetic shields, one of them was Ratchet's Omni-Wretch. He sighs in sadness and respect as he passes it before looking back at it and decides to hack the shield around the Omni-Wrench so he could take it with him. Besides, there is a chance that Ratchet is still alive.

As soon as he hacks the shield, it turns off as he swiftly grabs the wrench and put it on his back, it was quite heavy but he was able walk to the elephant in the room; A giant vault with the dimensionator inside.

Lincoln just smirks, he's a genius at cracking vaults. Plus, he was the fastest code cracker in his class!

After a lot of thinking, Lincoln puts in the code.

1-1-1-1

It was Captain Qwark's favourite number.

And it worked.

The vault opens revealing a large gun with a hemisphere shaped muzzle, it was sparkling with a interesting and quite beautiful pink and purple.

Lincoln grabs it, standing on his hind legs, trying to figure out how to shoot it. Just so you know he has one arm, so that's a problem.

Lincoln exams it first, just to make sure it wasn't damaged or anything, before he did the first thing that came to his mind.

He pulled the trigger.

A large both of energy shot out of the gun making a large purpleish pink rift. But before he went into the rift though, The alarms blared in his ears. His ears went back almost immediately as he almost curled up into a ball. Lightning was beginning to spark out of him again.

"Agh....Noise!" Lincoln mutters to himself. The alarms were so loud that he felt like fainting. But he knew that he needs to go through the rift.....and through the noise, if not, Cleo would do God knows what other crazy thing she has under her sleeve! So Lincoln gathers up his courage and runs into the rift as it closes.

his eyes were shut for a little while but when he opened them he was floating in this abyss, this almost dark abyss. It has small cracks glowing with the same purple or pink energy that the rift had. He floats around even more only to see a bright purple light flash before his eye.

His heterochromia eyes lit up when he sees an open rift in the abyss. He begins to swim towards it only to see other rifts open around him. They were not strong enough to pull him in but he could see what's in them, one of them was what appears to be a cybernetic city. It looked quite beautiful but you just ignored it and went towards the more bigger and stronger rift.

He then takes one more look back before going through the rift.
