A Long Distance Relationship

Chapter Two: Registration and Application Day at University

Waking up with a great vibe in the morning, Melanie decided to choose an outfit for the day, which was a simple print T-shirt, short sleeves, and black pants with a black sneaker with a ponytail and a small earring. When she finished, her parents and Melanie went to the car and drove to the gates of the University. When the building appeared by the side, the eyes were scanning it up and down and around the building, enjoying the massive structure and statues of the University. In front of her, by the parking lot, were lots of cars and young adults and teenagers students with their parents. Smiling happily outside but extremely nervous with the anxiety rising, causing Melanie to grab her fingers and rub them together.

Once the car parked, her mother, Jessica Peterson, said, "Mel, are you ready to enter your dream University?" "Yes, mother, I am so ready but nervous too. For the interview, of course." So they walked to the secretary's office and started filling in. In fifteen minutes, the Principal called Melanie in and she entered with her parents with the list of the courses that she wanted to tell the Principal.

~Melanie~
"Hi. My name is Melanie Brooks Peterson, I am the firstborn, together with my sister and one brother, Suzanne, and Nathaniel. I am 18 years old. I was born in my birthplace, Mikasa, and currently still living here, with my parents, Jessica and Matthew Peterson. I just recently finished High school and now I am going to register in my dream University, which is Mikasa University. At this moment, I am entering the principal office, with her label staff name on the desk, which is Catarina da Silva. We are seated in front of her desk, with a normal look and she finally spoke, saying, "Good morning, Miss Melanie, how are you doing, my dear?" "I am doing good, thanks. Miss Da Silva, I said" Knowing that I was super nervous, my mouth was tightly closed. Then the conversation went to my parents and they responded to each of the questions that the Principal was asking. The courses was the next topic, where I held my breath. Therefore, I held my paper out of my nervous hands and decided to read it aloud. I started, "The following courses that I want are, creative design, arts and crafts, culture, linguistics, business management, catering, medical professionals and creative writer, and for sports, volleyball. That's all, Miss Da Silva." She nodded her head, while writing down and recording what I said. After a while, Principal, said, "Alright, Miss Melanie, I am impressed, and do I appreciate your research before coming here. I would like to say, that you would be receiving your letter, delivered to you, by the end of this week.

With that said, the Peterson's has left and headed for the car. When they have seated, Father Matthew said, "Hey, I have the perfect idea for tonight. Why don't we all go for a family night or we can just order a pizza and we eat at home, honey?, looking at his Wife. Mrs Peterson said, "Okay, I would prefer ordering a pizza because for the Nathaniel is a school night. So I am settled. What do you think, Mel? Looking at Mel. With a huge grin on her face, she said, "You can count me in! Let's go!"

Melanie was so excited, that once their left their home, her brother, Nat asked Mother, saying, "Good evening mom. Why is Mel so happy? Did you guys buy a doll?" Looking down and lifting him from the floor, Mother Jessica said, "No my dear, your sister did not get a doll. She is happy because she will be going to her dream University, which is Mikasa University. Are you proud of her?" Smiling and doing claps, the 8-year-old Nat said, " Yes, mother I am very proud of my sister. Where is she? I want to hug her. Did you see her, mother?" Smiling and lookin' at him, she couldn't help but laugh and smile. As a woman and a mother, Jessica loves these two children so far. With her best friend, her husband, Matthew, they sure were a happy pair and an amazing family.
