Chapter Five: A School Day

Waking up with a good feeling and super excited to start her first day at her dream University, Melanie woke up and tidied up her bedroom. Next, she went to brush her teeth and choose an outfit for the day, which was a long jean white shirt until the knee, a tied small knot pants with a butterfly black belt, with small boots, with two plaits, afro hairstyle. When she was done, she quickly went to examine herself and liked it. Moreover, with that, she went downstairs with a set of books in her backpack and took her seat by the kitchen desk. Greeting mother, Mama Jessica said, "Good morning my dear, you look great. I love the style. A bit different but common. What I am trying to say, is you're beautiful." She smiled at her and said, "Thanks, mother." After eating her breakfast, Melanie got a bell from the door, and approached it, seeing Bryan by the door.

Being surprised, she opened the door with a smile and said, "Hi Bryan, I mean good morning, how are you?" "I am doing good thanks. Morning to you too. I came to pick you up, with your parents' permission." Looking at Mrs Peterson. With Mrs Peterson's nod, saying, "Of course, you may take her, my dear. How about for the whole week? Will you be okay with that, Bryan?" Looking back at Bryan, he said, "Yes, I would be okay with that, ma'am." "Alright then, off you go. You have a good day. See you later, Mel!" said Mrs Peterson. With that, Melanie and Bryan were on their way, inside Bryan's new car, which was an old BMW car. His parents bought it for him for his 18th birthday.

I am entering Bryan's car, I felt good. I complimented his car and he said that he got this as an 18th birthday present last year. After that, he started the car and we headed on our way to university. I got a message from Britney saying, "Good morning girl, sorry if I couldn't fetch you, unfortunately, my parents are taking me to the university, so I guess we will see each other there." "Hey, Britney, good day, I am driving with Bryan today, so we will see each other by the college. See you soon." Coming close to our destination, Bryan asked, were you talking to one of your girls?" "Yes, I was talking to Britney; she was telling me her reason why she couldn't fetch me today so I told her that I am riding with you today and that I will see her soon." "Okay."

Arriving at our parking spot, he turned off the car and I turn left to spot a car next to us, who was Britney and her parents. I went to hug Britney, once I unbuckled the seatbelt. I greeted her parents by saying "Hi" and they greeted me back. When we parted, Britney said, "Look at you! I didn't even recognize you with this outfit. You look sassy!" "Oh, Britney, we are on our way to work. Can you get a lift with them later on?" said Britney's mother. "Britney said to her parents, "Yes, I would take a lift with them after college. I love you guys!" saying to her parents, who entered the car and left. "Thanks, Britney, you don't look too bad yourself, love the back-bag. Oh, Bryan, you remember Britney, right?" Approaching his way to us, Bryan said, "Yea, I remember her, Mel. Hi Britney. Nice seeing you again." 

Shaking her hand. We entered the doors of the college and we stayed there, examining the size, the colors, the modern lockers, and the length. It was happening. My dream college is right in front of me, cannot wait to explore and make some changes at this college. With Bryan and Britney beside me, we walk in and pass some nervous people, some are happy to start, while the others are happy to see each other. Knowing it was a Monday, it would be an assembly, so everyone was going to the hall and taking their seat. Entering and seating in front of the stage, are the teachers and the staff members.

As we wait patiently, the next person to enter the hall was the queen herself, Miss Da Silva, with a beautiful outfit and some original natural beauty, she stood in front of her stool and said, "Good morning and welcome to the Mikasa University. I am your principal, Catharina Da Silva, mostly known as Miss Da Silva and I would be giving you the college rules. Trust me, it is not a huge list but gratefully to me, I made the resume of the rules." We gave a quick applause. Going back to her resume, the basic rules were as simple. They would be no name-calling, on media or claim a false accusation on any student, which is called cyber-bully, no stealing from one' locker or personal belonging, on the school fields, no littering or throwing your rubbish when you have done, no smoking cigarettes inside the school halls or corridors, only outside, by the field. No alcohol, no drugs, no needles, not even a pipe being with you. Leave those in your homes. Then she went to the details of the school, which was a reveal. No uniform! She added to wear it properly and comfortably. The next thing she said was that this week would be an introduction week and knowing the classes. Next, she went to the school times, finish time and how long the classes take, adding that now, telling the time, that it shall be registered and then after the first break, everyone should go to a separate board by the school corridors, she said that they would show you your classes, your locker number. Adding that, the teachers will give their timetables during the class."

So right after the announcement, the principal instructed everyone to stand and make their way to the left side and exited the hall to the board. Since everyone is going there, got their information and headed to their register class.
