"Hi there, I noticed you looked quite lost. Is there anything I can help you with?" Wanda spun around to see a woman with stunning blue eyes and brown hair like hers when not dyed. She couldn't help but feel comfortable around the woman as her smile and eyes were so soft and clearly showed that she would do whatever she could to help Wanda.
Wanda with her perfected American accent, answered the woman. "I am lost, thanks for offering help. Could you tell me what city I'm in?" "You're in Gotham City, but I get the feeling location isn't the only problem you have. If you need any more help then you can visit me at the district attorney's office." The woman gave Wanda a business card with the address of the office and telephone number. "Thanks I might just take you up on that offer. Oh um I'm Natalie Stark by the way." Wanda replied. "Nice to meet you Natalie, I'm Rachel Dawes. I'm looking forward to seeing you again, as for now, I need to hurry to work so bye." Both ladies waved farewell to each other as the Wanda watched Rachel speed up as she walked down the road.

Wanda had decided to learn as much information about Gotham City as she could from the internet, so she found walking towards the city's main library which was luckily very close to where she had been when first arriving in this world.
She walked in and went to the computer room. As she started up the computer, she gave a quick glance around the room when something caught her attention. A calendar with the year 2008 written at the top. Wanda's mouth opened in shock. The thought never crossed her mind that along with being able to travel to parallel worlds, she could also time travel? If you could even call it that.
Get a grip of yourself Wanda, you still have a lot to do if you want to be comfortable here.
Remind herself of how much she needed to do to become an actual citizen of this planet, Wanda moved on from this realisation that the technology in this world would be way less advanced than that she was used to, or at least she thought it was.

Wanda tried to cram as much as she could from what she read off the computer screen. Gotham City was located in the state New Jersey but seemed to bear a lot of similarities to New York City and Chicago from her world but with a gothic tone. It was a beautiful city as she viewed aerial shots showing its vast architecture.
She also learned some basics of the city's political situation. Its current mayor was Anthony Garcia and District Attorney was a man by the name of Harvey Dent, which Wanda also found out that Rachel worked as his Assistant DA and also seems to be dating him as there have been a few articles written about the couple.
She then educated herself on prominent figures in Gotham City alongside Garcia and Dent such as: Bruce Wayne, the only billionaire in Gotham City who partakes in plenty of charity work, Commissioner Loeb and Jim Gordon, leader of the Major Crime Unit. These were the people Wanda decided to remember as they held the most power legally.
Wanda quickly searched up jobs within the area to see if there was an occupation that interested her and that was when she saw an ad for a psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum. Yes, Wanda has no experience in the occupation, but she thought she could get away with it and the worst case scenario would be using her powers over the mind to become successful.
But for now, she had to create her credentials.

When she got to the legislation office, she slipped into the mind of the worker attending to her to ensure they produced her documents to her liking of course. And so there was now a Natalie Stark, from New York City moving to Gotham City, with a degree in psychology and had worked as a psychiatrist in a state hospital. She kept her real age as there was no point in changing it so Natalie was a 28 year old single woman.
Now all Natalie needed was a home address which would be a struggle. She decided to come back to that so just left it blank, adding it to her documents once her living situation was sorted.

Wanda chose to meet Rachel again to see if she could help her with her house problem. She called a cab over and used her abilities again to have the driver travel to the District Attorney Office. She wanted to limit the usage of her powers as much as possible in this world but that already seemed to be a challenge.
After the cab pulled over to the front of the office, she got out lifting her influence from the poor man who looked around with wide eyes as to why he was suddenly by the office. He quickly drove off.
Wanda walked up to the doors and entered.
The workplace was bustling with employees rushing to get back to their desks or to the printer to collect important documents. Wanda made her way to the front desk. She asked the receptionist if she could direct her to Rachel but she denied saying she needed to have an appointment. Wanda asked if she could call her over but the receptionist didn't budge as she didn't want to distract Rachel from her work over this. So Wanda sighed as she used her powers to again enter the mind of someone unwilling. Just untilI'm sorted out, she thought trying to justify her recent actions.
Wanda scurried along to Rachel's office. When she reached the door, she gave it a light double tap. She heard an enter and opened the door.
"Hey Rachel." Wanda said awkwardly. The woman shot her head up. "Oh my gosh, Natalie. I didn't think I would see you this soon. Do you need my help already haha?" "I hate to admit it, but I do. I know this is something I shouldn't be asking for but there is nothing else I can do." Wanda said with a hint of sadness. "Aww, Natalie why don't you sit down first, make yourself comfortable before you tell me." Rachel said pointing to the chair in front of her desk. Wanda gave her a small smile, heading over to the chair and sitting slowly. "Thank you Rachel truly, and I understand if you can't help me with what I'm going to ask. But um right now...I...don't really have a home..." "Oh." "Yeah, and so I was wondering if you perhaps knew somebody I could ask or a place I could stay. I don't have any money with me so it would have to be free. I will get a job though, just for now..." "No no, I understand. Um well I mean, you can always stay with me. I haven't moved in with my boyfriend yet so I can have a roommate." Wanda's eyes lit up with gratitude. "Thank you really. You don't have to do this for me Rachel, so I appreciate it. Just know that I am definitely indebted to you because of this." "It's fine Natalie, you don't have to owe me anything. Me doing this makes me feel better and lines up with my job, helping people. So don't worry about it. But um, yeah I am still at work right now, so why don't you do something whilst I finish up here. Meet me outside the building at 7pm." "Of course, thanks again Rachel." Wanda said with a huge smile this time, which Rachel returned.
Wanda walked out, wandering around the city sightseeing until it was nearing 7pm when she started heading back to Rachel's office.
