Eyes fluttered open as a bright light flooded through. Wanda pulled herself up, confusion littering her face as she took in her surroundings. It looked like her home in Westview, but that couldn't be right. There was no Westview here. No dream house. No Vision. Nothing of her old life. So why was she seeing this?
Wanda got out of bed and ran downstairs and threw the front door open. It was the house all right, but in...Gotham City? This was strange. But before Wanda could continue her investigation, a hand found itself on her shoulder. She jumped and spun around with her glowing hands aimed at the person who touched her. But who she saw, made her drop them.
"Viz...?"
"Are you okay, Wanda?" The synthezoid blinked at his wife.
"I-I-I don't understand. How are you here?" Wanda stammered as she was still shocked by what she was seeing.
"What do you mean? Why wouldn't I be here? We moved to Gotham City together a year ago." Vision replied matter of factly.
"But you died. Thrice."
"Huh, well last time I checked, I was alive. You sure you're okay dear?"
"Uh-um yeah just...surprised is all...I wasn't expecting you home so soon."
"Alright well, I'll be heading in. But just a heads up, we have some new neighbours who are moving in later today." Vision told Wanda then made his way past her and into the house."New neighbours...?" Wanda muttered to herself as this was becoming too much for her.
"Did I make another hex?" But she quickly shook this idea out of her head as she thought there was no way she did that. She finally had more control over her powers. Her brief read of the Darkhold and practice helped her. There was no way that she would've casted a hex if in an explosion. She gasped.
"That's right. Rachel and Harvey. What happened? Did I save her?" Wanda started to have a anxiety attack as she had no clue what was going on and whether she successfully saved Rachel or not. It was all becoming too much for her. Had she failed again to save her loved ones? But before she could do anything, she heard a voice.
"Hey there neighbour, are you okay?" It was Rachel's voice.
Wanda looked up to see her friend.
"Wha-I-I." Wanda stuttered.
"Dear, I think she may be having an attack." Now Harvey joined the pair.
Wanda's vision began to blur. This couldn't be real she thought to herself. There was no way Vision was here and how did the Dents not recognise her? Nothing made sense.
And with this final thought, Wanda dropped to the ground as she fainted.~~~~~~
When she woke up again, Wanda saw familiar faces. Vision and their children, Billy and Tommy, surrounded her bed.
"MUM! YOU'RE AWAKE!" The twins rushed to hug their mother, who was still reeling from all these revelations, but she still managed to let out a laugh.
"Wanda...I'm glad you're okay. You had me worried when the Dents next door told me you had fainted. You'd been acting strange today, but I guess you were just unwell." Vision spoke calmly.
"I'm sorry...I just...had a nightmare is all and it felt so real that when I woke up, everything was just a shock to me." Wanda lied, but then started to believe her words as all of this was quite realistic. Even if Rachel and Harvey were acting strange, she still had them plus her family, so was it really that bad? She could just befriend the couple again and live happily ever after in Gotham. It's not like Westview would take her back.So Wanda found herself enjoying this new life. She had been a mother, wife and neighbour again for 4 months now. Everything had been going so well. It was like the old days, but then she heard a knock at the door and opened it to face the present. She came face to face with the Clown Prince of Crime.
But before either person could speak, the house next door exploded. Flames painting the blue sky as a grin spread its way onto the Joker's face and tears started to drop down Wanda's face. That was Rachel's home.
"Wh-wh...why?" She sobbed as she lost her friends.
"Why, you say? Well, Because it's funny." The Joker laughed out, causing Wanda to jerk as memories flooded her brain. The last few months saw her forge a strong bond with the Dents. She couldn't believe this. Who did this clown think he was? Anger was boiling to the surface, and she was finding it difficult to restrain it...but it's not like he deserved her going easy.
