Meeting up with Rachel after work, Wanda and her made their way to the latter's apartment complex. It was a relatively posh and expensive looking building but definitely not the most pricey one within the City.
Wanda followed her up to her suite, number 205, when after Rachel opened the door and welcomed Wanda in, she stood in admiration in how beautiful the room was. It was quite modern in how it was decorated with mostly everything being white to grey tones with splashes of colour, predominantly a scarlet red, which Wanda liked.
Rachel further in, hanging her coat on a rack with her bag on the floor next to it.
"Come on in. It usually isn't this clean so do expect a mess soon haha." Rachel said in a warm tone.
Wanda gave her an appreciative nod."Have you had dinner?" Rachel asked to which surprisingly Wanda's stomach rumbled in response. Rachel gave out a hearty laugh as she picked up her phone to call a local pizza restaurant for delivery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, you're here from New York?" Rachel questioned.
"Yeah...I just needed to escape to be honest. I didn't have the best time living there so I just got up and left, which I'm starting to regret. I should've packed some things." Wanda gave out a sigh.
"Hey, it's okay. Your safety is what truly matters and if leaving in a rush secured that, then don't worry." Rachel said whilst giving Wanda a supportive arm rub.
Wanda smiled at her as she ate her pizza slice.Rachel had started asking Wanda about why she was in Gotham City whilst they were eating dinner. Wanda didn't want to be that deceptive so she gave mostly honest answers to the woman's questions, just with a slight twist so as to remain in character of Natalie Stark and not break into Wanda Maximoff.
So all Rachel knew was that there was something bad that caused Wanda to run with nothing and that all she wanted was to live a normal life.
After finishing the pizza, Rachel guided Wanda to the guest bedroom she would be occupying for the foreseeable future. It was again mostly white with some red accents in the use of pillows, rug and frames. Wanda thanked Rachel again for everything and said good night, which
Rachel returned as she left the room heading towards her own.Wanda was finally starting to feel normal.
Rachel was out on a date with her boyfriend Harvey, who Wanda briefly met when he came to pick up his partner. At first he was shocked to find that Rachel had a roommate but then realised that Rachel would soon be leaving this apartment, or at least he hoped she would, move in with him after he proposed.
Wanda and Harvey introduced themselves whilst they waited for Rachel to finish getting ready. When Rachel approached the door, they both gave the woman a look of awe. Rachel looked ravishing in her red gown that complimented her bright blue eyes.
Wanda waved the couple off as they left to go to the restaurant Harvey made a reservation at. She had the place all to herself now, so Wanda plopped down on the sofa and turned the TV on. It was going to be a long night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, who is Natalie Stark? I don't recall you ever mentioning you had a roommate." Harvey mentioned to Rachel.
"Because I didn't, she only recently moved in, about a week ago." Rachel replied.
"Rachel, when did you meet her?" Harvey said with a suspicious squint of his eyes.
"...I met her a week ago too." Rachel looked away from Harvey.
"Okay, just be careful around her. In a city like this, you never know if somebody is good or bad." Harvey exclaimed with a determined tone.They had arrived.

Wanda was tidying up the suite so she could go to sleep when she heard the door open, Rachel walking in.
"Hey, had a good night?" Wanda asked with a grin.
Rachel looked at her with glint in her eyes but no smile.
"Well it was going fine until we were ambushed." She answered with an exasperated tone.
"Wait what happened?" Wanda couldn't help saying.
"Bruce Wayne. He saw Harvey and I in the restaurant, which he owns apparently, and decided to invite himself and his date. I love that man but sometimes he can be overbearing." Rachel began to rant.
"Sounds like somebody is mad that they didn't get their date time." Wanda said jokingly.
"Yes, I am. But I guess something good came out of it. Bruce said he would throw a party for Harvey's election campaign. To show everyone he supports him and as a opportunity for Harvey to gain other sponsors."
"That is a nice way to say sorry for crashing your date haha."
"Well, as Harvey is the main star of the party, I've decided I need a plus one to keep me company whilst he is off trying to win over the elite of Gotham. Soooo, I was thinking you could come with us?" Asked Rachel with what appeared to be her puppy eyes.
"Um, I mean if you think that would be a good idea." Wanda responded.
"Of course it is and hopefully by the time the party comes around, you be Arkham Asylum's new psychiatrist."
Wanda nodded with a smile towards the older woman.
"Hopefully."Thanks for reading
A/N - I just realised that Harvey isn't district attorney yet 🤦♀️ so ignore me saying he is in the previous chapter. I'll edit it at some point.
