The Northerners failed.
That's what the report Moira and the Great Elder had received one day thru a missive from the North.
At the same time, that was also the next day Nyssa and her friends came to Neretos Sun Tribe and helped them fight those from the Dark Guild. Obviously, the missive was sent by one of those people who were able to escape.
Due to security reason, the missive didn't include the whole thing about what had happened in the North. So Moira and her people had to wait for a month before they really got the whole story.
And when it came to them, it really made the aura around Moira went down several degrees.
"So... You have failed your mission to lure two Guardians here. Nyssa thwarted both your plans for Meredius and Neretos Sun Tribe and she even now began collecting the Guardians to her side.
"Most importantly, you've let that damn sister of mine to take the Sacred Jade. Is that what you are trying to say to me?" Moira asked with an expressionless face and a solemn voice.
The people in front of her led by Felix, Rossi and Prince Akito began to shiver.
Moira scared the living hell out of them.
She was already intimidating when in normal mood. Now that she was certainly angry, her frightening level increased several notches more.
"W-w-we... we..." Felix started.
"Careful. Don't even try to deceive me." Moira told him sharply.
Felix gulped.
Well, he actually had the intention to somehow not make the report that worse. Of course, he wanted to save his neck as long as possible. But having been warned by Moira like that, he really had no choice but to just simply agreed to it now.
"Y-yes, Mistress. Those are all the accounts of have happened." Felix admitted.
To their surprised though, Moira began to laugh.
But it was not the humurous kind nor a cheery one.
This laughter was freezingly cold. Like a wind sound before an impending doom.
Well, it was really an impending doom for them because the moment Moira stopped laughing a judgment befell on them right away.
"Sacrifice them."
The pleads and cries of Felix, Rossi, Prince Akito and the rest of the Northerners who joined them could be heard loudly as the men of Yuan took them all towards the sacrificial chamber where the Heavenly Objects were being kept.
Despite them being so loud though, no one really heard them.
Instead, the people left in that room began to tremble and get concerned for their own lives.
Even the Great Elder was a bit uncomfortable. Knowing that the idea of using the Northerners came from him, it felt as if a cold, hard blade of a knife was pressing on his neck.
"Great Elder, what do you say about the result of this grand plan of yours, eh?" Moira directly asked him, even leaning her head to the side.
"Moira, I take responsibility for the failure of this plan. I have miscalculations, apparently. The presence of Nyssa and her friends were truly unexpected. It seems to me that they have been looking for the Guardians too at the same time we did."
"..."
"I know you are angry and probably want everyone involved accountable for this failure. But I say we focus first to the most pressing issue at hand. The Sacred Jade. We need to find a way to retrieve it from your sister. Otherwise, we won't be able to complete the transformation of the Heavenly Objects."
