167: The Last Guardian

The ruins of Kitsune Fox Clan residence brought devastating feeling to all of them as soon as they arrived there.

Each one of them had their own family clans and seeing one great clan destroyed like this was like giving them a glimpse of what their end was if the same thing would happen to their families.

Except for Weiss and Loki who had somehow already experienced the same thing with their clan.

"What now?" Raqie asked to no one in particular after they roamed around the whole place and found nothing relevant at all.

The place had obviously been scoured by others already before they even arrived there so they didn't see even the smallest treasure there.

"We only have few days left to keep looking for the eighth guardian. Otherwise, if we want to make it on time before the war starts, we should come back sooner and begin activating everyone's bloodline then." Toby said.

Nyssa simply sighed.

Well, wasn't she also fully aware about that timeline?

But she had a feeling that she would meet that last guardian too. This gut feeling was so strong she couldn't doubt it all. Hindi nga lang niya alam kung kelan ito mangyayari.

"There is a nearby stream here. Let's camp out there tonight and just continue the search tomorrow." Maru suggested which no one refuted.

Soon, they were already making camp nearby the stream.

As of now, they were being careful and avoiding renting rooms at the island's inns. The last time other people saw them, they ended up being chased by thousands of them. They didn't want that to happen again, of course.

They would rather use the remaining time they had to search for the last guardian instead of being chased by enemies.

Unexpectedly, Nyssa's gut feeling was right this time. She and that last guardian were really meant to meet.

And that actually happened that same night.

They were surrounding the campfire to get warm in the midst of this chilly evening when Nyssa suddenly detected movements somewhere deep in the forest.

It wasn't just her who suddenly felt it.

Unexpectedly, when she looked up, she met Weiss's eyes which meant he also felt the presence.

Although their movements were just small, it was still enough for Raqie to notice them who was sitting opposite to Nyssa.

"What's wrong?" She asked looking alternately between Nyssa and Weiss.

The lad remained quiet and simply let Nyssa decide telling them but the latter didn't respond right away.

The aura was still at the farthest area of the detection of her Locate skill so she couldn't figure out yet kung ilan ang mga paparating at kung may masama ba silang intensyon sa pagpunta nila sa gubat na iyon.

And she didn't want to alarm her friends most especially at alam niyang pagod na rin ang mga ito sa maghapon nilang paglalakbay at paghahanap para sa ikawalong guardian.

"Nyssa?" Toby asked.

The lady ended up sighing then. Well, she guessed it was too late for her not to alarm them. They were all looking at her now and waiting for her to say something.

"My Locate is detecting movements from where we came from."

"From the direction of Kitsune Fox Clan? Then are they possibly enemies?" Vina was very concerned suddenly.
