Father gets mad.

"Dad," Riley said entering the apartment, "you don't understand."

"What's not to understand?" Cory responded. "You are dating a boy." "Riley, you're only in the seventh grade!"

"Dad! What's so bad about it?!" They're both screaming now.
•
"That boy-- he's not go- he's not like you."
•
"And that matters?" "I know what you were going to say. You cut your self off!!! You know he's not bad. You like him!!!!"

"Maybe I do." Cory's tone cools. "But I don't like home with you. I'm not gonna loose my baby girl."

"Daddy, I'll always be your little girl." Cory smiles.
•
He knows Riley loves him but he doesn't want that to go away. He makes a plan.

Later that night Lucas comes over. Cory is at the door.

"Hello, sir." Lucas doesn't give Cory time to respond. "I wanted to say that I want your daughter to be happy. If you don't want me to be with her, I understand." "And you're right I can't say I love her, I don't know what love is, but I can say she deserves someone that will take care of her." "I hope you will let that person be me."

Cory stands there in amazement, but soon comes out of shock. "After that, I trust you. But don't tell Riley that. And you should STILL be afraid of me."

Lucas nods. Then Riley walks in.
•
"Hey Lucas." "Come one in. We can go to my room."
•
"No uh uh." Cory demands. "You stay on here. I'll leave."
•
Riley and Lucas sit down on the couch. Someone walks in on them..... Doing something wrong.
