Big Day

In The Classroom
Riley's POV
"Dad!" I scream!
"What?!" I can tell he's worried.
"What did you say to Lucas?" I was demanding an answer.
"I-I" he can't even finish his sentence.
"I can tell he was crying. And he won't talk to me. He's ignoring me." "He is one of the best things that ever happened to me. And there you are ripping it away from me." "I love him."
I ignore whatever my dad is saying and turn around to leave. Only to find Lucas was standing there the whole time.
"L-Lucas" I stutter.
"It's ok, I love you too." He kisses my cheek.
I start to blush. I don't know what to do.
Then I realize that my dad is behind me. I give Lucas the "look behind us" eyes. He nods. We leave, we leave my dad to think about that. We don't even have his class later.

On the subway
I didn't even bother to go back to my house today. Maya and I went directly to the subway.
"So what happened today?" Maya snaps me out of thought.
"Oh nothing." I bluff.
"Riles, I know you, you always go home after school."
"Okay fine" I say "My dad got mad at Lucas, I guess, and I saw Lucas crying at lunch. He wouldn't talk to me so I ran straight to my dads room. I gave him this big lecture about how important Lucas is to me. Then I realize Lucas was listening. I told my dad I loved Lucas. Lucas said it back to me. Then kissed me on the cheek, it front of my dad." Wow that was overwhelming.
"Wow, sounds like you had a big day." Says Maya.
