Kat doesn't see Adam again until Wednesday night rolls around and it's time for work. Kat arrives at the arena early, as per usual. The first thing she does is drop her bags off in her personal locker room, then she intends on heading out to meet up with Tony for a quick meeting.
Kat is just about to leave her locker room and head out when someone knocks on the door. Curious as to who would be here this early, she walks over to the door and swings it open.
"Katie! You are looking stunning tonight." Kat is greeted by the one and only Don Callis.
"Don, what can I do for you?" Kat leans against her doorframe casually.
"Straight to business, I see." Don chuckles. "See this is why you are my favorite Jackson, Kat." He grins. "I'm here for Kenny, actually. He wants to know if you'd be interested in backing him up while he's over in the Impact Zone doing some work." Don explains.
"And he couldn't come and tell me this himself, why?" Kat raises a brow at Don.
"Kenny's a busy man, Katie." Don reminds her. "Things like this are exactly why he's got me. So, what do you think?" He asks Kat.
"I'll think about it, Don." Kat shrugs. "I'm pretty busy with work here, Adam being back and all." She reminds him.
"Right, Adam Cole." Don nods. "I figured that you'd be looking for ways to avoid working with him." He glances down at Kat curiously. "I mean, he did kind of break your heart, Katie." He reminds her like so many other people have been doing.
"Yeah, I was there Don. Remember?" Kat nods. "And like I keep telling everyone, it was a long time ago."
"Right, well you know where to find me when you make a decision." Don nods, feeling the awkwardness of the atmosphere set in. "Take care, Katie, good luck out there tonight. To you and your brothers." He adds with a friendly smile.
"Yeah, thanks, Callis." Kat nods and watches him slink back off to whatever cooperate snake hole he crawled out of.
Kat waits for a minute for Don be to long gone before she heads down to Khan's office. On her way down there, she thinks over Don's, or rather Kenny's, offer. It's tempting, that's for sure. It's been a long time since Kat was anywhere near the Impact Zone. And she's sure that she could find something to get up to while she's there helping Kenny.
"Ah, there you are Kat." Tony greets Kat when she finally gets to his office. "Something up? You're usually the early one." He asks her casually.
"Sorry about that, Tony." Kat sits down next to his chair. "I ran into Don on my way down here. He and Ken seem interested in getting me as backup when they head back to Impact to cause trouble." She explains.
"Yeah? Ken asks us the same thing yesterday." Matt speaks up from the other side of the table.
"Oh really now?" Kat laughs. "Wow, so much for being his favorite Jackson." She rolls her eyes playfully. "You guys turn him down?"
"Yeah." Nick nods. "We've got way too much going on here with Adam back," Nick explains exactly the same excuse Kat gave earlier.
"That's what I told him. But I did say that I'd think about it." Kat nods. "I mean, I work actual matches way less than you two do anyway." She justifies her answer a bit unconsciously.
"It might actually be a good fit for you." Tony is the one to speak up this time. "An extra talent showing up on Impact is sure to boost ratings. And I don't have any doubts about your ability to find something to get up to over there." He explains. "Not that we wouldn't miss you over here." He adds.
