At the same time that Kat is having a heart-to-heart with Dana, Adam is across town sitting in a coffee shop with Britt. And the conversation isn't exactly going as planned.

"You want to what?" Britt clutches her drink with a death grip as she stares at Adam across from her.

"We're breaking up, Britt. It's over. I'm sorry." Adam repeats himself.

"You're breaking up with me? With me?" Britt fumes in her seat, her voice beginning to rise an octave.

"I'm sorry, just please quiet down," Adam replies in a hushed tone. The last thing he wants is to make a scene.

Originally Adam wanted to break the news to Britt somewhere more private. But Britt insisted that they get coffee when Adam said that they should get together to talk.

"Quiet down!?'" Britt replies historically. "Are you kidding me? What? Am I embarrassing you, Adam?" She gets out of her chair in a hurry.

The sound of wood scraping against the floor harshly is enough to warrant a few glances from the patrons of the coffee shop. Adam nervously glances around at the wandering eyes and knows that he needs to get Britt under control quickly.

"You're making a scene, Britt." Adam gets to his feet as well. "Come on, we're both adults. We can handle this like them too." He insists and gestures for Britt to sit back down in her chair.

"It's Katie Jackson isn't it?" Britt grits her teeth. "I fucking knew it! God, that man-stealing bitch." She growls.

"Stop." Adam snaps. "Kat didn't do anything. It was all me." He insists. "Besides, we both know this was coming, Britt. Regardless of Katie."

"Oh, I'm sure." Britt scoffs. "You know what? If you want to be with that bitch so bad then go ahead." She turns her nose up at Adam. "I should have known that this was going to happen. Fucking manwhore, Adam."

Adam remains silent as Britt gets up with her coffee in hand and walks off. As she walks past Adam to get to the door she removes the lid of her iced coffee and tosses it in Adam's face before dropping the empty cup into the trash by the door.

"Oh, real mature," Adam grumbles to himself as coffee soaks into his shirt.

'At least it wasn't hot coffee.' He thinks to himself as a barista walks over to him with a worried look and a towel. Adam takes the towel and soaks up some of the coffee while he quickly apologizes for the scene and the mess. He makes sure to leave a nice tip for the trouble then leaves before anyone else becomes a witness to this little ordeal.

Back in the car, Adam calls Kat and asks her to meet at her place so they can talk some more. She agrees and Adam heads directly to her house. He's eager to let Kat know that Britt is no longer an issue and Kat can't be labeled a homewrecker anymore.

Kat arrives back at her place first, after having breakfast with Dana and talking briefly with Matt. Matt wasn't super excited about the idea of Kat and Adam dating again. But Kat managed to convince her brother that it was worth at least a try. One more chance.

"Adam, come in." Kat greets Adam at her front door around half an hour later. "Why is your shirt damp?" She notices the dark coffee stain on the front of his shirt.

"Yeah...Britt kind of tossed a cup of coffee at me when I broke the news to her." Adam replies quietly, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Hot coffee?" Kat turns around with a look of concern.

"It was iced." Adam shakes his head, a small smile on his lips at Kat's immediate concern for his well-being. "But glad to know that you care." He teases her.

"Shush." Kat rolls her eyes and takes Adam into the living room to sit. "So, I assume that Baker didn't take the news well then?" She assumes as she sits down on her couch.

"Not really." Adam shakes his head and sits down next to her. "She was angry, which is understandable. I just wish she didn't make such a scene in front of the whole coffee shop." He sighs.

"You guys were still in the coffee shop?" Kat raises her brows in surprise.

"Yeah." Adam nods. "I wanted to let her down in a more private setting. But Britt insisted that we get coffee. And you know that she doesn't take no for an answer." He explains.

"Oh, I know. Trust me." Kat nods. "Hold on, I'll be right back." She gets up and disappears down the hall.

Adam sits and glances around the room. This is the first time he's been in Kat's place after all. The living room is a moderate size. There is a grey couch with a coffee table in front of it as well as an end table off to the side. To the right of the couch is a large loveseat style grey recliner with its own end table to the left. A lamp is on the table with a book sitting next to it. There is a large tv mounted to the wall in front of the couch, an entertainment center below it with a DVD player, and a sound system both sitting on it.

"Okay, here try this on. It should fit." Kat comes back into the room with a black t-shirt with The Elite logo on the front.

"Thanks." Adam takes the shirt and pulls his stained one over his head.

Kat sits back down and Adam pulls the new shirt on. It's a little baggy on him, but it'll do for the time being.

"Are all of your shirts three sizes too big?" Adam asks Kat casually.

"I sleep in that one sometimes," Kat replies. "That's why it's so big. More comfortable to sleep in."

"Right." Adam nods. "So, what now?" He turns to a more serious topic.

"I don't know." Kat shrugs. "I told Matt and Dana that we were giving this another shot." She explains. "But what does that mean? I mean we didn't really date back then. Do we just pick up where we left off?"

"As long as I get to be with you, Kat. I don't care where we start." Adam replies. "Hell, if you want I'll plan us a first date. We can start from the very beginning." He insists.

"Woah, I don't think that we have to start that fresh." Kat laughs. "Let's just take this one step at a time. Let people get used to the idea of us together instead of you and Britt. Okay?"

"Yeah, okay." Adam nods.

"I can't believe that she actually threw her coffee at you." Kat suddenly bursts out into casual laughter.

"Hey!" Adam whines. "It's not funny, Kat!" He pouts.

"It kind of is." Kat's laughter subsides a bit. "You know we've got a couple of hours before Nick is supposed to come over so I can tell him about us." She relaxes and leans into Adam's side. "You want to play some games with me?" She suggests.

"God I am in love with you." Adam grins.

Kat laughs again and pulls Adam up by the hand before she leads him down to her office where all her games and consoles are.
