        Elian's POV

"I never knew why your mother wanted to keep you hidden from your other true origins, here in the realm of the elves. Though, I was upset that she disguised her true self, she did it to protect the prophecies. As you may know, there hasn't been a time where the Fae are mated to anything but their kind. If your mother made herself known to others that she was not a Fae, there would have been chaos," Adrian stated as he tried to explain why I have never seen or known about him before.

I frowned, thinking about my current situation, "Nevertheless, isn't that how the Fae will react to the mating of the Alphas and I?"

"In theory, yes. Although, this is all based on an opinion, you'll never truly know till you try."

I nodded as we were silently thinking to ourselves on the bench of the castle's garden. It was still daytime here, and I had a countless number of questions for Adrian. As my shock dwindled down, I couldn't be any happier despite the issues that I was facing. The numb feeling of my heart was still present as hard as I tried to free my mind of the twins.

"The death of my daughter was a tragedy for all realms, as it was for your father as well. We, the elves here, are still constantly trying to find the cause of their deaths. I will not rest until the ones who caused such sorrow in my heart are found and punished."

As hard as it was to accept the death of my parents, it was nice to be reminded that I was not the only one who was still grieving. For the longest time, we remained on the bench and caught up on each other's lives.

I informed Adrian on how the realm of the Fae was being ran with me as their authority figure. What came to my mind as I spoke thoughtfully about my people, was that even if the Alphas and I chose to work things out with one another, it still wouldn't work. They wouldn't leave their pack and I wouldn't want to leave my people, we both had previous priorities before this pairing took place. I couldn't decide to be like my mother and leave home to be with my mates, I had responsibilities. The people of my realm put their trust in me on a daily basis, I couldn't let them down.

Adrian also mentioned his wife, my grandmother. She was in the human world, meeting with other kinds in the human world. When I questioned why she would go and travel when he could, he had a feeling that I would come and decided to stay back. She would be back in a few days' time, and I planned to stay that long to at least meet her once before I'd be on my way. When he referred to my grandmother, he smiled with so much love and affection that I was extremely thrilled to meet this woman.

Soon enough, we decided to head inside the castle and walk around the hall to continue our conversations, I believe that neither of us wanted to rest just yet. It was far past the time that I would have reapplied the enchantment for the masking of the mate scent, I figured that the Alphas weren't here at the moment and even if they were, they already know that I am their mate.

As we walked into the hall, there was a disturbance by the doors.

Five wolves and the familiar Fae warriors bursted into the common hall of the castle in a furious state, their eyes landing on Adrian and I. To anyone else other than myself, Adrian may have seemed to be an attractive, young male. He is my grandfather, that would simply be incest, but no one else knew this. Thus, the Alphas' anger and irritation directed at Adrian and other past male figures that always lurked around me in a friendly and caring manner. Before I could warn everyone, they started to charge towards me.
