(Y/N) POV

30th bomb placed in a dark alley where no one will see it.

To the next one.

I look at the bag that I was carrying my bombs with...I still have a ways to go.

I went to leave the alley when I bumped into someone.

I almost toppled over them, I managed to shift my balance enough so that I fell away from them.

"Are you ok?" A woman asks as I look at her under my hood.

My eyes widened...standing in front of me was Ruby Rose.

My heart ached.

"Ruby, I'm alive!" I wanted to yell

"Help me! I'm crazy!" I wanted to tell her

Then a cloud went over these thoughts

"You left me for dead! I thought we were friends!"

"You should die...just like everyone else!"

"Ruby...I'm mentally ill...get away from me before I hurt you!"

"I'll put you through the same hell that Salem did to me!"

As these thoughts surface in my head, I look into those beautiful silver eyes. They look so innocent...so pure.

"She's even more evil than Salem was!" The voice yells in my head.

"No...don't ruin that picture of her! Leave me alone!" I yell back at him

"Just like she did to you? You and I both know that I'm the only reason why you aren't a veggie right now," it snaps back

"Just shut up! Shut up!" I yell as I snap back to reality.

Ruby held her hand out to me.

"Take it, unleash everything to her," the past me says

"Stab it! Just like all the pain you've experienced because of her," the evil one says

I look at it for a moment.

I get up on my own and then rush out of there.

Ruby...why...why did you leave me back then...I mean I know Yang forced you to...but you coulda stayed...I know this is selfish...but you coulda fought for me...died for me...just like I almost did for you

That day comes rushing back into memory...the horrible day shows its head again after all these years.

My legs fail me and smash into the hard ground.

(Y/N) POV 8 years ago

"All Grimm bombs are in place," I yell to team RWBY

"Alrighty, let's get outta here," Yang says smiling as we all celebrate.

"Come on, let's go to the Bullhead and get out of here...this place gives me the butterflies," Ruby says in her usual high-pitched voice.

"I agree," Blake says as we start making the 10-minute trip back to the bullhead.

"I sense something," Ruby suddenly says as everyone gets on guard

"What do you mean?" Weiss asks

"I don't know," Ruby says unclearly.

Almost in unison. Thousands of Grim crest a hill about 100 meters away from us.

"Oh Oum," I mutter as we start sprinting toward the bullhead that was still a kilometre away.

"Your Grimm bombs, we need to set them off," Ruby yells as the Grimm closes in.

"It would take too long," I scream back. The sounds of the Grimm are now ear-shattering.

We were gonna make it to the Bullhead in one piece...but barely.

Suddenly, Ruby's foot gets caught on something and she faces plants into the ground.

I stop in my tracks and look at the herd of Grimm and then at Ruby.

It's either my life or the life of my love.

I forced Ruby up and yelled

"Use your semblance to get to the bullhead," I say as I start running again.

Ruby did what she was told and was on the bullhead in seconds...meanwhile, A Grimm sunk its teeth into my legs...

You know the rest.

When the Bullhead flew away, Salem appeared in front of me.

"So you're the genius boy," she said as I studied my surroundings...it was a dark room.

"And?" I taunt her.

"You'll be the maker of my downfall...that is unless you tell me how to deactivate these Grimm Bombs you have made," she threatens me

"Go to hell, I ain't telling you nothing," I say as the torture began.

Salem didn't say a single word from me about the Grimm bomb...eventfully, she started torturing me for fun.

(Y/N) POV Current

I breathe in and out trying to regulate my breathing...I have panic attacks whenever I remember that day outside of my dreams.

I can't breathe...help...

My vision starts to darken until I can't see anything

"(Y/N)!" I hear before a warm feeling covers my body...I remember this feeling...

It's a hug.
