Reunion

(Y/N) POV

I felt arms wrap around my chest as a body is pressed against my back

The warmth of the body behind me felt like it melted my heart.

"(Y/N)...is this really you?" A higher pitched voice asks me...Ruby

She sounds more mature then she did all those years ago...her voice is a bit lower too.

"Take your knife...and stab her! She deserves it after putting you through all that pain!" My evil self tells me.

"I can't...it's Ruby..."

"She will hurt you again...she will betray you again,"

"No...she didn't want to!"

"But she did. What's the difference between meaning to kill someone, and not wanting to kill someone but you do anyway...nothing in the end, you're left with a dead body."

"Shut up, shut up!"

"R-r-Ruby?" I ask as my voice trembles in pitch.

"(Y/N)!" She says recognizing my voice. She lets go of the hug and spins me around.

My heart nearly explodes. Her perfect silver eyes from not just 5 minutes ago had water spilling out of them.

"It really is you! Where were you all this time! Are you ok! What happened! I'm so sorry! Let me help you!" She says faster than what I can hear.

"Slow down," I say as my voice cracks a little.

She did...in fact she stopped talking and she looked me dead straight in the eyes.

"I missed you...I missed you a lot," she says with a huge blush on her face.

I stayed silent...between my old self, and the evil inside me...I didn't know how to react.

"Why didn't you come to me?" Ruby asks with sadness in her voice

"I've spent the past couple years thinking you were dead," she continues

"I--I don't know," I say honestly.

It was true...I don't know why I didn't come back to Ruby after I escaped. I know the evil inside me resents her...but looking at her, talking to her, reminds me of my feelings for her.

My heart feels like a burning beating drum. My body feels hot from the passion of love..

"Do you seriously still love her after she did what she did?" The evil asks

"She's the love of my life!" My old self yells

"It's despicable, and it's disgusting," the evil says

"Look at her...she's sad for us. She regrets what she had to do, if she jumped in to safe us, all of remnant woulda been wiped out from Salem," old me says

"What does that matter? We are gonna end the world ourselves, remember?" Evil asks

"No, we never agreed to that!"

"(Y/N)?" Ruby asks as I'm snapped back to reality.

"What?" I ask her

"I asked if you would like to get coffee or something?" She asks as I chuckle

"I don't remember you drinking coffee...do you bounce off the walls when you drink it?" I ask her as she blushes

"I've matured a lot since then," she says.

"I can go for some coffee," I say

"You idiot!" Evil says

"This actually works toward your goal," my old self says

"How?" Evil asks

"You don't want her to be suspicious do you?" My old self asks.

"I guess so," evil mutters

"Know any good places? I haven't been here for awhile," I joke as she nods.

As I followed her, I noticed she grew a little. She was a little taller.

"You grew," I mutter as she looks at me with stars in her eyes

"I know," she says proudly.

We entered the coffee shop and sat down.

We ordered some drinks and Ruby asked the question that was on her mind

"What happened?" She asks me. The world stopped for a second.

"I'd rather not talk about it," I tell her as she nods and drops the topic

"So what's new with you?" I ask

"Nothing really...just shocked I guess," she says

"I thought you were dead," she finishes

"Hmm," I say as I look at my coffee.

"How's...umm what's name? Oscar? You know, baby Ozpin?" I say as she smiles

"He's adventuring now," she says

"Ah, is Ozpin still kicking in his head...or when...she died did he go too?" I ask her

"I don't know," Ruby admits as I funnel my brow

"Oscar is pretty secretive about it," she tells me

"Oh...really?" I mutter...why would he be secretive?

Ruby looks at me with a weird look at her face

"What's up with your face?" I ask bluntly.

Her face flushes red as she avoids eye contact.

"I'm just in bliss....I've missed you a lot," she admits...my heart starts pounding and my body heats up.

"She doesn't mean it," Evil says

"She does...Ruby would never lie to my face," my old self says

I look at Ruby and just soak it in. She's in front of me...we are talking again.

I can't believe I didn't try talking to her before.

Ruby...I think my old feelings are resurfacing for you.

"You stupid boy!" Evil says

"You can not make past mistakes again!" Evil yells

"What's life if you can't enjoy it!" Past self says

"Fine...i'll do it myself!" Evil yells as he attempts to take over.

My past self tries to resist. In my head, I can feel Evil is winning as I sense myself getting angry.

"I'm shutting us down if you win!" Past self yells

"Shut up!" Evil says as my world suddenly goes dark.
