CHAPTER THREE
Tuesday, September 8th

The girl in the park was there again.

Blue lake park looked as beautiful as ever, the girl's red hair in contrast to the green of the grass and trees. She sat on the same bench as before backing him and not paying attention to the world around her, nonchalantly swinging her legs along with the rhythm of her humming which she had gotten from the birds.

Alex found himself several feet from the bench at his usual stop: the drinking fountain, but Riley was nowhere to be found, he was alone.

The park was in a state of isolation, the grey sky threatened everyone below it with the possibility of a down pour, the whole park was green all around and the sight of her red hair was almost a relief. Almost.

Who was she?

Questions ran through his head and the more he looked the more he asked, he walked towards her with curiosity, questions like:

"How does she actually look?", " Why is she always sitting there? ", "And why was she looking at me the other day?"

ran through his head

His feet landed on the wet grass mercilessly as he ran,

she stood with the intention to leave so he called out but his voice failed him. Her yellow and peach sundress waved in the wind, flipping over it exposed a little more of her skin. A new wave of confidence washed over him as he scaled the bench to meet her on the other side. He wondered even more how she looked.

Then the world slowed as a blue jay flew over the park every detail became clear, the scent of rose bushes and scurrying tree animals. He could see droplets of rain as they pelted her skin and dispersed in one fluid motion.

He grabbed her shoulder and the normal speed of the world came rushing back at him, he staggered and shook his head in an attempt to get rid of the nausea.

The gracefulness and swagger he saw in her movements went out the window as she turned to reveal a wolf's face. Its teeth were ass big as the the digits on his hands and bloodshot eyes that seemed to pierce your soul. He fell flat on his ass and used his elbows and palms to push himself backwards.

The beast revealed itself ripping the sundress he averted his gaze so he didn't see her body, he looked back at it and saw as it transformed into a black wolf,

It lunged at him intending to tear away flesh and draw blood and his life flashed right before him.

He sat up in his bed and wiped at the beads of sweat over his brow even though he could feel the air conditioning blowing cold air at him at full blast.

It was a dream. No, a nightmare.

The bell rang signifying he was late, again and to make matters worse he had to make a trip to the bathroom. He kept it short and washed his hands under the system of water in front of the mirror. He splashed some water on his face just to make sure he was fully awake then dried himself with a paper towel.

The petite figure of a girl moved past him, her long red hair flowing behind her as she ran through the exit Alex didn't take a second to process what just happened he jumped into action dashing out of the bathroom. Finding himself back into the long hallway he had come from he looked around to see where she had gone but she was nowhere to be seen,
