Third POV
Naruto saw red. It was as if everything was invisible to him, he couldn't hear as Donzo screamed when Naruto decapitated him. Naruto screamed, all the pain of losing Jiraiya turned to anger. "Let's go home" Menma suggested, "we'll leave in the morning" he said. Naruto nodded and stood.
He whistled and two small foxes ran from the bushes and stopped at his feet, almost awaiting orders. The first fox was small, it had lush ash blonde fur with big blue eyes. The second was jet black with brown eyes, it was almost twice the size of the first fox. "Midnight, blue find Shikamaru and tell him to meet me and the Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju compound" Naruto commanded, "and get the others to take care of the body" he added before walking away.
The group returned to the compound in silence. To any bystander, the anger rolling off them was deadly. Naruto and Naruko's once sugary carmel scent became burnt. Menma and Mito's strawberry scent became molded. As they approached the compound, Shikamaru smelled them coming and prepared himself for their wrath.
Shikamaru's POV
"Hey guys, what happened? What's the plan?" I asked cautiously. I didn't want to upset them, I was used to Naruto's anger but combine that with his siblings... I did well to not stutter. "We're heading to the hidden rain" Naruto growled, I nodded and held out a arm for him to lean into.
As soon as we entered the house, the mood went from concerned to morbid. "He's dead" Minato said in a monotone, the four of them nodded simultaneously. Minato nodded, "good" was all he said. We all sat down at the dinner table, the silence was one of mixed emotions. "What did he say" Kushina asked, her tone filled with a hint of curiosity and malice. "He said that he ordered Itachi to attack us and kill grandpa so grandma would listen to him" Naruto replied not looking up from the table. Silence fell over the table, everyone including me looking down. "How have I been so blind?" Tsunade said, I could hear the regret in her voice, mixing with sorrow. "It's not your fault, we were all fooled" Minato said, trying to console her while it was obvious he didn't even believe himself. I looked up as I heard Naruto rush out the room. I stood and followed him, knowing what he was thinking. I followed him to his room, "this is all my fault" he said. I walked over and pulled him into a hug, his body shaking. "If I had just left back then this wouldn't have happened" he said, his voice broken. "You don't know that" I said, "if you had left back when we were younger, we might not be where we are now, you might not have your family, and you might not even be pregnant" I said, pulling back to look at his face. "I know this is hard right know, but don't think about how things could have been different, think about how we're going to get through this" I said. "Ok" he replied meekly, I wiped a tear from his eye and placed a kiss on his forehead. "Let's get some rest, today has been stressful" I suggested. He nodded and we pulled away to get ready for bed.
