Outcast at school, incompetent at home. That's what I was, I had no friends at school, and at home I kept hearing words like; "this isn't how we taught you" "oh look how respectful Margaret is, why can't you be like her?" I was done with it! I had gotten additional two weeks' detention for skipping class, and it's all because of Lydia snake. I had made up my mind; I wouldn't let anyone walk over me, I may be albino, but I'm still a person, I was different and different meant special.

That's what I thought before I got hit with the bombshell.

Saturday.

I was always excited about a Saturday, because it wasn't a school day and I got to work, and work meant money, and money meant more history books, so why shouldn't I be excited? I was startled from my sleep by crashing glass due to a stone thrown into my window. It had a note with it saying;

"You will never be happy"

It wasn't something unusual, but ever since I stupidly pushed Dylan, I had been getting one of those every morning around the same time. How lucky was I? I didn't even need an alarm clock to wake me up.

I left for work around eight A.M after a breakfast of cereal. I got to work; Carson's cafe, on time. I started my shift on a positive note before Dylan and his crew walked in. Oh not again! They took a table and was looking around for a waiter, I hurriedly looked away and tried to hide but it was too late. Lydia had seen me, she beckoned on me to come. I looked away, and locked eyes with none other than my boss a.k.a Ursula. She sent me a disapproving look, I turned and marched towards Lydia with a huge smile.

"Good morning ma'am, what can I do for you?"

"Two Lattes, one Iced Americano, one black coffee and three Cappuccinos. You don't need to write it down do you? That's what your nerdy brain is for right?"

I gave her a tight smile and nodded. This foxy girl wants to make my life miserable even at work?!

I decided to endure all the ill treatment, they came to the cafe because of me, at least that meant more money for the cafe.

I put all the orders in a large tray and march towards them. I set down the tray and gave them all their drinks, I turned to leave before hearing an ear-splitting shriek made by the snake.

"Where's my Latte? I asked for three Lattes"

" I think you may have made a mistake ma'am, you specifically asked for two Lattes."

"Are you saying I'm wrong? what kind of customer service do you guys run here? I thought the customer is always right! I'll leave a review about this on your Website"

Just as I was about to reply, my manager ran in to apologise to the snake.

"I'm very sorry ma'am, please don't be annoyed. I'll get you a latte immediately, hold on a minute."

Three seconds later, my manager runs in with a latte and gives it to her. She grumpily receives it and sits back down. I leave and go back to my spot after getting an annoyed look from my manager.

I went behind the counter because I didn't want to talk to anymore customers. Buisness went on as usual, with Dylan and his crew still at the cafe. I was getting frustrated just at the sight of them.

What are they still doing here?

They sent me annoying glares and smirks, I ignored them as usual. I attended to the other sane customers. Around noon, Dylan and Vanessa marched towards the counter, to pay for their drinks.

"That'll be ten dollars ninety nine cents"

She gave me twenty dollars, I gave her back a change of nine dollars and a cent."

She collected it and asked for her remaining change.

"Where's the rest of my change?"

"What do you mean by the rest of your change?"

She raised her voice.

"I gave you twenty-five dollars, so my change should be fourteen dollars and a cent"

I couldn't believe my ears; this girl was at it again she was trying to get me fired. I was losing my mind, my manager walked in, apologised and gave her five dollars more. I was so angry, I'm sure my skin was red in anger. They just wouldn't leave me alone. My manager asked me to meet her in the staff room. I walked in unsure of what my fate would be.

"Nina, you've worked here for quite a while now, and until today I have had no reason to doubt you, but today has proved otherwise. I have no choice than to relieve you of your duties here. I'll pay your salary by the end of the day."

"Ma'am It wasn't my fault, she... she... she... This is what she wants. I know her, she hates me. Ma'am please this job is important to me."

I was in tears already.

"I'm sorry Nader but I've made my decision."

I gave a weak nod. It was over, the look on her face told me there wasn't any need to argue. I packed up my stuff and left the staff room.

I walked out, and saw Lydia, Dylan and their goons waiting beside the café door snickering. They all had satisfied smirks on their faces, I felt something open up my head and suck out all the common sense I had been storing up for years. THAT'S IT! I ran up to the nearest table, picked up two cups of coffee, dumped it all over Lydia and pulled tightly on her hair.

"the fuck is your problem?" I screamed earning the attention of everyone in the café

My ex-boss ran in with a horrified look on her face. "Nina let her go"

Lydia was screaming, Dylan and his goons looked on with eyes wide open and mouths' agape. people in the café had their phones out recording. I DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK

"You've got a lot of nerve asking me to let her go, haven't you?" I looked Ursula in the eyes.

"I worked here for a year and a half without making any mistakes, yet because some crazy, makeup addicted, smelly mouthed bitch, her idiotic boyfriend and his stupid goons come here acting all thoughtless, you fire me? Without even asking me or finding out what happened?"

I pull tighter on the snake's hair ignoring her pleas. Ursula remained quiet. I pulled on Lydia's hair and brought my face close to hers' and whispered.

"This would be the last time you ever try to bully me, if you ever look at me, let alone talk to me, I'll make sure you spend your last penny and those of your rich parents on several hair transplants. Understood?" she nodded very quickly.

"Oh and to you Dylan, stay away from me. You wouldn't want everyone to know you're addicted to crack would you?" I heard surprised gasps from his goons, while he paled and looked at the ground. I began to laugh hysterically, "Oh sorry, my bad. I didn't mean to let out your dirty secret. what a nice duo, a drug addict and his insane girlfriend" I raised an eyebrow while cocking my lips "stay away from me all of you". I gave Lydia's hair one last pull before dropping her on the floor, I picked up my things and stormed out the door.

I walked for a few minutes before the reality of what I'd done hit me. Fighting in public, cursing in public, and assault! All because of that stupid, sneaky snake! "They managed to take everything that made me happy. Even my job, I guess there would be no more income of cash and no more history books, to top it all, I was a public fighter!" I mumbled to myself.

I wished for a Miracle, I wished my life became good all of a sudden. I wished to be the Lydia of my world. But that wish seemed impossible. I got home, decided to Instagram a bit, then saw the cafe video on every page I scrolled past, reading; INSANE ALBINO BEATS FRIEND UP IN CAFÉ, HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS FIGHT OVER BOYFRIENDS. Could this day get any worse?!
