Chapter 5: May

"Well it's official." Sam says to Bucky. "I saw Steve leave y/n's room this morning."

"Good for Steve." Bucky shrugs. Sam frowns, "I know what you're doing."

"What am I doing Sam?" Bucky asks.

"You're doing that thing were you pretend you don't care, but once you're alone, you'll start crying." Sam says.

"I'm not gonna cry over her like I'm a high school teenager and before you ask me how I know about that, y/n made me watch a lot of high school love story movies." Bucky says.

"Wow! You are more in love with this girl than I thought." Sam says.

"I'm not in love with her. That's insane. I'm not in love with her Sam. Come on. Be real for once." Bucky says. "I'm not in love with her."

"You're repeating yourself." Sam says.

"I'm not in love with her." Bucky says. Sam puts his hands up in defense.

"Plus I'm winning the bet so sooner or later, her and Steve won't matter anymore because she'll fall in love with me— holy shit I'm in love with her." Bucky says.

"Ya think?" Sam asks.

"Natasha! Get your cute ass over here!" You yell. Nat stands up and walks over to you.

"What? And thank you for calling my ass cute." She says.

"You're welcome and do you know about Steve leaving my room?" You ask.

"Babe, everyone knows." Nat says. You groan and put your head in your hands. Nat pats your shoulder. "Don't be ashamed. Get some dick." She says.

You glare up at her. She softly smiles, making you smile. "Just remember about the bet. If Bucky wins... you'll have to go on thirty-one dates with him." Nat says.

"I didn't have sex with Steve." You say.

"What?" Nat asks.

"Last night, we were planing Tony's birthday party. We had Pepper on the phone. We lost track of time, and the next thing I know, we wake up and I'm laying me head on his chest and his arm is around me." You say.

"That must've been awkward. Hence why he left in such a rush." Nat says. You nod.

"Oh shit." Nat says. You look at her confused. "Bucky doesn't know that you were planing Tony's birthday party." Nat says.

"Okay so..." You say.

"Never mind. It doesn't matter. Hey I think Bucky's winning, go check the score board." Nat says.

"I swear to god if he's winning." You say as you walk away.

Nat heads to the elevator, she hits Bucky's floor button and waits. Once the doors open, she walks out and announces, "Lover boy! Where are you?"

Both Bucky and Sam walk out to meet her. "Hello Natasha." Sam says in a weird seductive voice.

"Umm... hi. Anyways, Bucky, Steve and y/n didn't sleep together." Nat says.

"But I saw Steve leave y/n's room this morning." Sam says.

"Yea apparently, they were planing Tony's birthday party with Pepper last night and fell asleep. The reason Steve left so fast was because the were cuddling when they woke up and it was awkward." Nat says.

"You mean, Steve loved it, and y/n didn't." Sam says. Nat nods.

"So Barnes, you and your best friend are into the same girl huh?" Nat asks. Bucky rolls his eyes and walks away.

Nat looks at Sam who's nodding his head at her. She chuckles and walks away.

A few days later, you happily walk into the conference. Bucky eyes you suspiciously from outside. You erase your number and write down your new one.

"What? How?" Bucky asks as he walks in.

"Guess I just had some luck." You say innocently.

Bucky narrows his eyes at you. His jaw tightens before it relaxes and he walks away.
