The Bet

Chapter 6: June

"You can dance!" You yell.

"You can jive!" Wanda yells.

"Having the time of your life!" Nat yells.

"See that girl!" You yell.

"Watch that scene!" Wanda yells.

"Digging the dancing queen!" Thor yells.

"Haha I'm winning Barnes." You say as you point to the score board.

"Seventy-nine, to seventy." You say. "Y/l/n." You add.

"It won't take me that long to catch up." Bucky says as he takes a bite of his plumb. He steps closer to you. "I'll pass you faster than you can say the full alphabet."

You scoff. "Okay challenge accepted. The full alphhhhhh."

You stop talking as Bucky erases his number and writes eighty-two.

"You son of a bitch." You say. Bucky bounces his eyebrows at you. "You set me up."

"Sure did doll." He says. You frown and cross your arms on your chest.

"Mwah." Bucky says as he kisses your forehead.

"You're the worst." You say. Bucky smirks at you. "The score board says I'm the best." He teases.

"I'm gonna punch you in the face." You say.

"You'll have to catch me first." Bucky says as he spins around and starts running towards the door. Throwing his plumb seed in the waste bin, he runs out of the room. You decide to take the bait and chase him.

A little bit into the chase, you roll your ankle and grip the counter before falling. "Ow! Son of a nutcracker!" You yell.

Bucky runs over to you. "What happened? Are you okay?" He asks.

You look at him. Before he can even blink, your fist makes contact with his face. "You actually punched me." Bucky groans as he puts his flesh hand on his nose.

"Now we're both in pain." You say.

"I think you broke my nose." Bucky says.

"Oh shit. That's awesome." You say.

"Tony they need to call off this bet." Steve says. Tony looks at Steve from outside the room you and Bucky are in. "Why?" Tony asks.

"Y/n sprained her ankle and broke Bucky's nose because of this bet." Steve says.

Tony looks through the window into the room and sees you and Bucky glaring at each other. He looks back at Steve, "Okay. I'll talk to them."

"Wait hold on." Sam says as he point towards you two through the window. "Look." Sam says.

Bucky's now standing next to the bed your laying down on. They see him say something and you laugh which makes him smile widely. You scoot over a bit and Bucky sits next to you in the small hospital bed. He wraps his arm around you, you lay your head on his shoulder, he lays his head on top of yours.

"See. All better." Sam says while smiling widely.

"Well I'll be damned." Tony says.

"They still need to call this off." Steve says as he walks away.

"Nah. This is what they need to realize they're in love." Tony says.

"No. Bucky knows he loves her. She doesn't know she loves him." Sam says. Tony looks at him. "Well, she better figure it out. Or I'll do something about it." Tony says.
