Little town, it's a quiet village
Every day like the one before
Little town, full of little people
Waking up to say...

Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour!

There goes the baker with his tray, like always
The same old bread and rolls to sell
Every morning just the same
Since the morning that we came
To this poor provincial town

As a girl walks through the village, a baker called out to her "Good Morning, Misery!"

Mia, who went by Misery, smiles and waves "Good morning, Monsieur"

"And where are you off to?"

"The bookshop. I just finished the most wonderful story. About a beanstalk and an ogre and a-"

"That's nice. Marie! The baguettes! Hurry up!"

Misery giggles and walks off once again

Look there she goes, that girl is strange, no question
Dazed and distracted, can't you tell?
[Woman:] Never part of any crowd
[Man:] 'Cause her head's up on some cloud
[Townsfolk:] No denying she's a funny girl, that Misery

[MAN]
Bonjour!

[WOMAN]
Good day!

[MAN]
How is your family?

[WOMAN 2]
Bonjour!

[MAN 2]
Good day!

[WOMAN 2]
How is your wife?

[WOMAN 3]
I need six eggs!

[MAN 3]
That's too expensive!

There must be more than this provincial life!

Misery walks into a small bookstore with a big smile

"Ah! Misery!" The bookstore owner, Hitoshi Shinsou smiles as he waves at the short beautiful girl

"Good Morning! I have come to return the book I borrowed!"

"Finished already?"

"Oh, I couldn't put it down! Do you have anything new?" The girl smiled happily

"Not since yesterday"

"That's alright! I'll just borrow...this one!"

"That one? But you've read It twice"

Misery giggles a little "It's my favorite! Far off places! Daring sword fights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!"

"If you like it so much, then it's yours"

"But Hitoshi..."

"I insist" he smiles

"Well thank you! Very much!" She waves at Shinsou as she exits the bookstore. Already having her book open as she stolls through the village

Look there she goes, that girl is so peculiar I wonder if she's feeling well
With a dreamy, far-off look
And her nose stuck in a book
What a puzzle to the rest of us is Misery

Misery smiles, sitting on a water fountain, reading her favorite book

Oh, isn't this amazing?
It's my favorite part because you'll see
Here's where she meets Prince Charming
But she won't discover that it's him till chapter three

Some Townsfolk watch her with curious eyes

Now it's no wonder that her name means "Beauty"
Her looks have got no parallel
