While the following is told in present tense, its tale is millennia old in the world of Elorys. It is the story of two heroes from the continent of Areysta that would spark the beginning of a legacy that would be reborn for generations and generations to come. Today, the people of Elorys know the Keepers of Balance as two heroes, the Spirit of Life and the Spirit of Power, who are reincarnated over and over again to keep eternal guard over balance in the world -- but every legacy begins somehow.
Once, a very, very long time ago, the current Keepers of Balance were simply people. Nothing distinguished them from other beings beyond the individuality that all beings possess; they had no star-given powers and their souls had not been bonded yet -- but all of that would change with the rise of powerful darkness, darkness that threatened the balance of the world. The stars sensed its coming arrival and with the moon's decree began looking for a new pair of heroes to reignite the old legends of the Keepers of Balance -- two chosen individuals that had the strength, wit, and purity to wield the powers of nature needed to protect balance -- and not even they had predicted how perfect of a match these two heroes would be for the roles, nor that by choosing them, a new legacy had been born.
