" What noise is that" I said bolting out of bed immediately." Calm down, it's just your alarm" Promise said while laughing
" My alarm, is it my alarm that has that horrible sound" I said looking around confused but it was probably because I was still feeling sleepy.
" You didn't know the sound was horrible when you made it your alarm ring tone" Pelumi said while dabbing her face with her tear drop makeup foam. Pelumi is my other roommate asides Steph and Promise. I remember selecting a high pitched alarm sound so as to make sure it wakes me up but it hasn't succeded till today.
" Promise, Pelumi today is matriculation day" I squealed in excitement.
" You are no longer feeling sleepy" Promise responded and I nodded
I went back to my bed for my morning prayer.
" Where is Steph" I asked after I had finished praying, wondering where she could have gone
" Makeup artist" Pelumi replied
" Oh, I remember her telling me she will be with the makeup artist early this morning" I said proceeding to my wardrobe to get my shower things.
After taking my bath, I wore the new dress I had selected for today, a beautiful red gown and complemented it with my white heeled slippers. They were both gifts from my mummy's elder sister, I call her my big mummy actually, ever since my Mum died, she always calls, send me plenty money and she bought all the clothes I brought to school for me.
I still had to wait for Steph so I laid on my bed deciding the best thing to do is to surf the interest, although what I do most on the internet is to eye shop different clothes, shoes, jewelry and books on Jumia and Amazon.
" Kill them Steph" Promise shouted, I quickly tilted my head to see her.
She was wow, her make up was really on point
" Wura, you are wearing red" Steph squealed
" We are going to be matching" she continued excitedly and I groaned mentally
" Your makeup is nice" I told her.
" Yeah, I know" She boasted
" Thank God for your beauty" I said
" Why don't you have any makeup on" She asked while trying to pull up the zip of her gown.
" I don't have any makeup" I responded
" Why" Steph asked
" Is it because you are a Pastor's daughter" Promise asked
" Is make up a sin" Pelumi added
" Guys, calm down with the questions. I don't have a problem with using moderate makeup but I don't just have any makeup" I said
" So you are telling me your Mum didn't buy you common powder when you were coming to school" Pelumi asked
I paused for awhile
" Guys leave her alone" Steph intervened.
" My Mum passed away two years ago" I said to prevent future situations like this.
The room was silent for awhile before Promise spoke up
" I'm so so sorry, I shouldn't have said that" Promise said pleadingly and Pelumi followed
" It's okay, you didn't know" I said with a smile.
" I'm here for you" Steph said as she pulled me into a hug. The hug made me feel reassured.
