"Shhh." FP hisses as he and Alice stumble through the halls of the dark motel, searching for their room. It's nearing three A.M and they're exhausted, any buzz they had going surely having been danced away. It was more fun than they had anticipated, and Hermione's family proved to not be as uptight as they originally thought.
"I'm sorry, I can't see very well. You'd think they'd turn on some lights in this place."
"I don't think they really expect people to be wandering the halls in the middle of the night." FP decides with a smirk as he watches her fiddle with the room key.
She gets it and opens the door with a relieved smile. "I never thought I'd be so happy to see this room." Alice cries, kicking off her heels as she makes her way to the bed, dropping down onto it.
FP chuckles and loosens the tie around his neck, along with the top few buttons of his dress shirt. "No kidding. My feet are killing me."
Alice raises an eyebrow at him. "Your feet? Try wearing heels all night."
"My feet wouldn't hurt so bad if someone hadn't stepped on them the whole time we were dancing." He raises a knowing eyebrow at her and joins her on the bed, flopping down on his stomach.
"I didn't even know you could dance." She murmurs. "You're pretty good."
"Don't act so surprised, I'm a man of many talents." He shrugs.
"I just didn't expect that is all, now I know how you get the ladies." She nudges him with her arm and he laughs.
"You think I just charm them with my dance moves?"
"Well if not you should start, girls love a guy who knows how to dance."
He stares at her while she looks up at the ceiling, taking a moment to appreciate just how beautiful she looks. "Is that so?"
She nods, turning her head to lock eyes with him. Her makeup only accentuating the striking blue of her eyes, he swears they sparkle. "I had fun with you tonight. Think there's another wedding somewhere this weekend that we can crash?"
"Did you see the size of that place? Of course there is." He chuckles, he's sure he would've gotten lost had it not been for all the signs and paths that told him exactly where to go. "Besides, I'm sure Fred's parents will have a vow renewal someday too, I'll be your date to that one."
Her heart skips a beat at the word date and her lips curve into a smile. "I'm gonna hold you to that." They stare at each other for a moment, the silence and tension thick between them. She clears her throat, dragging her eyes away from him. "We should probably get ready for bed, don't wanna be late for breakfast tomorrow."
He nods, sitting upright. "Right, right. You can use the bathroom first."
She gets up from the bed and feels his eyes on her as she walks into the bathroom and as soon as she shuts the door behind her, she lets out a heavy breath.
She busies herself with taking off her makeup and brushing through her tangled hair trying to ignore all of the scenarios her mind is coming up with. And when that doesn't work to calm her racing thoughts, she splashes some water on her face to cool her heated skin, all too aware that FP is just outside the door, his mind potentially racing just as much as hers.
