The ride to Greendale proved to be much less exciting than any of them had expected. While Fred and Hermione listened to music and argued over directions, FP and Alice fell sound asleep as they watched the whir of trees out the window.
"Wake up Sleeping Beauty." Fred calls, shoving FP awake.
FP yawns, his eyes just barely opening. "We make it?"
"All in one piece."
He gently shakes Alice next to him. "We're here, Al." She groans in response, tightening her arms around FP's and nuzzling her head into his shoulder. "We gotta go find our room, wake up."
She glares sleepily at him as she stretches out her neck, aching from the cramped up angle she was sleeping in. "Can't a girl get five more minutes of sleep?"
"You just slept the entire car ride, I think you'll live." Hermione chuckles. "Come on grumpy."
The four of them carry their luggage into the Holton Hotel, and Hermione escorts them towards the front desk. "Hi, reservation for Gomez-Andrews, as well as Jones-Smith?"
The woman working the desk types the names into the computer, eerily long acrylic fingernails tapping loudly. "Miss Gomez, Mister Andrews, you two will be in room 223." She passes Hermione the key card and focuses her attention back on the computer, searching for the second reservation. "Would the second reservation be under any other name? I'm not finding it here."
"It might not have gotten switched from my cousin's names. Try Hernandez?"
The woman types the name in but comes up empty handed yet again. "Sorry, nothing."
"I called and made the reservation the other day, how is it not here?"
"There could have been a computer error, did you double check the reservation?"
"No I didn't double check the reservation, I expected it to be fine."
"You should always double check your reservation." The woman tells her cockily.
"You know you're a great person to have around after a crisis?" Hermione quips. "Fine, we'll just book one now."
"Unfortunately we're booked full, ma'am."
"Booked full? You can't be! My parents are renewing their vows this weekend, we're all supposed to be staying here!"
"I'm sorry, maybe if you had of double checked your reservation we could've squeaked you in, but there's not so much as a cot available."
"Well do you know somewhere that does have an available room?" Alice asks politely.
"I just book the rooms here, I'm not information. If you want to know, you'll have to call around." The woman states snootily.
Alice cocks her head, narrowing her eyes at the woman, and she's just about to fire back when FP grabs her elbow, pulling her back. "I think I saw a motel on the way here, pretty close by. Maybe they'll have something?"
Hermione digs into her purse and pulls out her credit card, passing it to Alice. "It's on me."
"Well it better be considering you didn't double check the reservation." Alice teases.
