"Hey you," Lance speaks, announcing his presence with a soft knock on Alice's bedroom door.

"Hey! I'm just about ready, I just need to grab my toothbrush." She pecks a quick kiss to his cheek and he smiles. "What?"

"Nothing it's just cute how excited you are."

"I haven't gotten out of Riverdale in... gosh I don't know how long. This trip is long overdue. Plus," she starts, drawing her arms around his neck. "I'm looking forward to this alone time you speak of."

"Mmm, me too." He kisses her gently. "I've got a little something planned."

"Ooo tell me!"

"It's a surprise!"

"So? Tell me anyway."

He just smiles at her, taking her hands in his. "I promise, it'll be worth it."

Alice teasingly narrows her eyes at him. "It better be. I'll be right back." She dashed into the bathroom and grabs her bag of toiletries, giving her appearance a quick once over before making her way back to Lance. "Ok, I'm ready. Let's get the hell out of here."

FP's nose scrunches as he watches Fred and Hermione flirt across from him. The three of them had met up for lunch at Pop's but much to FP's chagrin, Alice wasn't there to keep him company. "Where is Alice? Shouldn't she be here by now?"

Hermione raises an eyebrow at him. "She's not coming."

FP's eyes widen. "What? Why?"

"She's going to Lance's lake house for the weekend."

"A lake house?" FP scoffs. "How pretentious."

"It's actually a small little cottage but lake house sounds much more exotic," she decides. "Don't you think, honey?"

"Both sound fun to me, I wish we could have tagged along." Fred says, a little disappointed.

"Why didn't she say anything? When did they leave?"

"This morning. And really? Are you surprised she didn't tell you?" FP blinks and Hermione rolls her eyes at him. "She's had two dates with the guy and you two knuckleheads have crashed both of them. She wants to be alone with him."

"Still would have been nice to know she was leaving. What if Lance was an axe murderer?"

"What if there's a fire?" Fred adds, earning a glare from his girlfriend.

"Not helping." She scolds. "And Lance is a nice guy, he seems to really care about Alice."

"But-"

"Enough with the buts, FP. Why do you care so much? Why are you so keen on ruining this relationship for her?"

"I'm not, I just-"

"Lance is the first guy in a long time that's treated her right, do you want another Jamie situation on our hands?"

"Well no, obviously not."
