You weren't crazy you knew you weren't. You knew what you could see and hear was real but no one believed you, instead a visit to raven scar mental asylum was for you. Days turned into months, months turned into years, you weren't quite sure how long you'd been there for.

Screams filled your head night after night, the other patients being tortured back to normality whatever that was. You soon learned you were gifted seeing spirits and not to tell anyone what you were seeing and not to talk when people were about. You were discharged at some point. No family no friends but you made a life for yourself.

Now to the present day you had the no-so-smart idea of going back to raven scar. You wanted some sort of closure for that time of your life. The place is abandoned now, just a few spirits left haunting the halls. You navigated with ease to your old room "did you stay here?" A voice asked, you jumped ten-foot when you saw a man behind you.

You were sure no one had followed you in there and none of the spirits said you weren't alone. "Y..yeah I did" you stuttered, scared out of your mind. You were in an abandoned mental asylum in the middle of nowhere for god sake, how did you think this was a good idea?!. "You and me both" he smiled sadly, from a distance he looked like a doctor but now he was closer to you, you realized it was a trench coat he was wearing.

The blood-red tie loosened. "You are far too pretty to have been staying here" the man flirted, you smiled a faint blush rising. "Says you handsome" you blurted out without thinking, mentally scolding yourself for being so bold. After this place you never let anyone into your life, scared they would do the same thing and try to get you 'help'.

Your flirting back caught him off guard. Normally people who stayed here were either dead or a shell of the person they once were. You bounced back to your normal self pretty quickly, thanks to your spirit friends. They were the only things keeping you sane in this place and keeping you alive. "what were you in for?" He asked walking to look out of the window with you. the view you saw for the whole of your stay. The garden is still dead and unloved.

"I, erm. I can see and talk to spirits" You mumbled under your breath, this was your biggest secret that you were willing to take to the grave with you. the man next to you chuckled, "Is that all? christ you got off lightly" he scoffed, does he have any idea what hell you went through?!. He smirked holding out his hand in front of you, if you didn't think you were mad before you definitely did now.

Before you were a man holding a ball of fire in his hand. A ball of freaking fire! "I'm a magus and demon hunter. they had a field day with me" he reminisced, remembering all of the names he was called and what the so-called doctors put him through.

you both stood in silence, nothing but the sound of the wind creeping through the broken windows. well for him at least you had a bunch of people inside your head. "So what's your name Magic boy?" you asked breaking the silence. this snapped him out of his own thoughts
"John Constantine. Your's Psychic girl?" he questioned back with a smile "(y/n) (l/n)" you smiled.

there was something about this man you found interesting, I mean he's a real-life magician who survived a stint in this place. "what do you say we get out of this shite hole?" he asked turning towards the door, "how about a pint magic boy?" you replied with a cheeky smile, you got a faint smell of whisky and cigarettes from when he was stood next to you. "now that is the best idea I've heard all bloody day lass" he smirked holding out his arm for you.

you gladly took his offer, leaving the lowest point of your life behind you and moving on to the highest. and by the highest point, I mean getting absolutely smashed with a man you just met.
