Kalypso

The truth

Damon now walks home from school with Kalypso every day. She has found herself slowly opening up to him (against her will- she shouldn't get close to anyone, but he's so easy to talk to). Damon usually tells her stuff, and she gives him advice. She doesn't talk about herself too much, for several reasons: there's not much to say without telling him where she is actually from; she'd be bothering him if she talked about herself; there is no point, as she cannot be helped. But he can so she focuses on him.

Damon is venting about how his mother yelled at him for coming home late from school because he went to buy oranges for her.
"Did she know you were going to buy the oranges?" asks Kalypso.
"No, but why should it matter? She should be glad I got them and helped her out."
"Yes, she shouldn't have yelled at you, but maybe she was just worried and didn't want to admit it, didn't know how to admit it, so she got mad. Next time just tell her if you are going to go somewhere even if you think it's unnecessary, that way she won't yell again."
"I guess so, thanks Kalypso."
She blushes. "It's nothing."
"No it means a lot. But now tell me what's wrong I know something is still bothering you."
Kalypso debates wether to tell him who she is. What if he thinks she is crazy and leaves her? Oh well it doesn't really matter, since she has already decided- she is going back home where she belongs tomorrow night, and no one can stop her.
She takes a deep breath and starts, "You know how I was taken in by Callidora's mother?"
He nods.
"Do you know where I'm actually from?"
He frowns, not sure where this is going. "No. I have heard people say you just appeared in the alley out of nowhere, almost like you'd been dropped from the sky."
Kalypso smiles to herself. "That's exactly what happened." She braces herself for his reaction, but nothing shows in his face. He just looks at her, telling her to continue.
"I am from Heaven. Several years ago, Zeus was unhappy with how the world was, for there was no love or happiness. So he called forth hundreds of angels and gave them a new life on earth, ordering them to teach humans to love and care about others. I am one of my those angels."
She slowly looks at Damon, worried. She's astonished to see that a grin is slowly spreading across his face.
"I always knew you were special," he grins.
Then what he did next was even more unexpected- he kissed her!
