It is Damon's face! What is he doing here?
"What are you doing," Kalypso hisses.
"Open the window," he tells her.
She does, and before she can stop him, he's vaulted over the ledge and stands in her room.
"He-"
"Shhhhhhhh," he shushes her. "I told you I was going to try to help you, and I don't break my word. So I'm here!"
"What? No. I told you you can't help me- and get out of my room it's the middle of the night!"
"Not until you tell me what's wrong," he says stubbornly.
"Fine," Kalypso sighs. She slumps down to the ground and leans against her bed.
She wonders what to tell him. She obviously couldn't tell him she's angel, he'd think she's crazy.
Before she can say anything Damon grabs her wrist. "What's that from?"
"Um..." she mumbles. She didn't want anyone finding out! What if other people started hurting themselves too because they thought it was 'cool' or it would help them too, instead of coping with pain the way they have their whole life.
"Did you do this to yourself?"
She says nothing, looking at the ground.
"Why?"
Ugh better just get it over with, once she tells him he'll finally leave- though for some reason she feels disappointed, thinking that. No she shouldn't be disappointed she doesn't even know Damon that well! Its not like he was going to stay- what was she thinking?
So she tells him how she has a lot of unpleasant emotions and hurting herself helps her deal with it, and how she's afraid that if she didn't take it out on herself she'd take it out on others. He asks, "Why do you have all these bad emotions? You should feel happy, look at how much you've changed this town."
She can't tell him that's it's 'way better in heaven', so she says, "I just feel like it should be better. Happier, nicer, more peaceful..."
"And you think you need to do this. All by yourself. I know you've done a lot already but you can't get rid of negative feelings. They are as much part of you as the positive ones. And they balance each other and one makes the other more potent as well- if you didn't know pain, happiness wouldn't be as special."
Wow Damon was pretty smart and he had a point. But it worked in heaven didn't it? She sighs.
"Don't put the weight of the world on your shoulders. You can't do everything."
But he is wrong- she is pretty proud of herself for helping so many people, even if she didn't get rid of all the unhappiness- she just doesn't want to feel it herself. She knows that the others could deal with it because they'd handled so much worse before she came, but for her since she had known so much better it's harder.
Since she has helped this town, maybe it's time to go back home. Surely Zeus would be happy with how far she's come.
"Kalypso?" Damon asks.
She startles. She'd forgotten about him being there, she'd spaced out.
"Sorry," she apologizes. "Well I've told you some stuff, can I get my sleep now?"
"Ya," he says. "Remember what I said though ok. You are a pretty special girl."
