Chapter 8 - Team 7

After the encounter with Genin, Y/N went to find his team. Since joining Danzo, he had been seeing Team 13 less and less. This affected their chemistry together as they could barely work together most of the time. Y/N didn't care as he knew that he would be the one to shine out of the four.

After a few minutes of jumping across the village, Y/N met with Team 13. "Well look who decided to turn up for once," Neji said condescendingly to Y/N who ignored him and continued toward the Chunin Exam Hall.

"Wait Y/N!" Lee said excitedly. "I know you haven't been around much but today I'm going to show you and the others that I'm an asset and not a liability!" He said with pure passion and youth. This got Y/N to smile as he put a hand on his friend's shoulder.

"I never doubted you, Lee, let's kick some ass!" Y/N responded as Lee cried out a battle cry and Tenten and Neji cringed.

Moments Later...

The quartet walked along the bustling halls of the examination site, looking around at the competition ahead of them. A variety of people around them featured a red-haired girl with glasses from the Hidden Grass village and a trio from the Hidden Rain village. This got Y/N excited as he wanted to prove to everyone watching that he is the next big thing in the shinobi world. 

The group then approached Room 301 guarded by two Jonin. "Look what we have here Kotetsu, four bratty little scum!" One guard said to his partner mocking the team of genin which upset Y/N.

"Move we have a Chunin Exam to be taking," Y/N said as he attempted to push past the guards but was met with a block from Kotetsu. 

"Let's have some patience kid, after all, you don't want to be moving too fast" Kotetsu as the other guard threw a sharp elbow at Y/N, knocking him to the floor. Y/N hit the ground hard as his eyes flashed before him, discombobulated on what just happened.

"What do you think you're doing to my friend!" Lee said standing up for Y/N as he dusted himself off. "I'll show you what we're made of!" Lee continued as he jumped up to deliver a kick to the guards but his attack was deflected.

"Are you sure you're gonna be attempting the Chunin Exams with that skill?" The other guard said, mocking Lee and Y/N. At this point, the scuffle garnered some attention from the other competitors. 

"Please let us through!" Tenten tried to walk into the room but was also pushed onto the floor. "That was harsh!" She said as the guard scoffed in disbelief at what she was saying.

"We are being nice to you! Just imagine what it's like out there in the real world, full of dangerous and merciless Shinobi, do you think they'll be nice to you?" Kotetsu said lecturing the young genin. This made the group think for a second as a couple of pairs of footsteps approached.

"A good argument indeed but I'm afraid you're gonna release this genjutsu." A young Uchiha, Sasuke said to the guards. This impressed the guards and everyone around, including Y/N which frustrated him. As the genjutsu was released, the room in front was revealed to be 201 and not 301.

As Sasuke felt proud of himself, Kotetsu went for an attack but Sasuke noticed and also threw a kick to defend himself. Lee saw this as an opportunity as he got up and dashed at the pair to block both of their attacks. Both fighters stepped back, confused about what just happened.

"I thought we weren't going to attract attention carelessly," Neji said scolding Lee as he brushed it off. Then he started to approach the pink-haired girl with confidence.
