Chapter 1 - Introduction

Y/N POV

I was never really all that talented. I was awful at Ninjutsu, my genjutsu was non-existent and my taijutsu was sub-par. I really wanted to become someone important to the village. It doesn't even have to be Hokage, maybe a village hero who saved the village from aliens or something. But I had to start somewhere if I wanted to reach my goal and that place was the academy.

I walked to the large gate with my mother and she waved me goodbye. I stood there breathing in the fresh morning air and I walked inside. I looked around my classroom seeing many different faces that intrigued me. One face was of a girl which was bright and beautiful. Her hair was unique being two buns and a short fringe. To put it simply, she was just pure beauty.

Another face I noticed was of a boy, whose eyes were of the Byakugan. He must be already very skilled. I thought to myself and I knew I had to stay away from him during combat.

The teacher then walks into the classroom, silencing fellow students without saying a word. 'Good Morning everyone, today we will test your combat skills with 1-on-1 spars, please follow me.' The teacher announced to us and a simultaneous groan of annoyance was said by every student, including me but one other kid looked fired up.

Every student surrounded the small circle that was to be where we would fight. 'Ok I will draw 2 names and they will spar until one has given up and accepted defeated.' The teacher told us. I was just hoping that I didn't get the Hyuga kid, he seems quite menacing as a foe. 'Rock Lee!' A boy with a long ponytail stepped out readying himself for his opponent. 'Neji Hyuga!' He stepped out and calmly bowed down along with Lee. 'Begin!' The teacher yelled. Lee stepped back and attempted a kick to Neji but he easily dodged it. 'Ok, Clone Jutsu!' Lee yells as a puff of smoke appeared.

The result of Lee's Clone Jutsu was nothing but a spineless version of himself. 'Pathetic.' Neji told Lee as he activated the Byakugan and hit Lee in the stomach sending him flying which means Neji won. 'A ninja who cannot use ninjutsu is useless, even something as simple as a clone Jutsu, you failed miserably. I suggest that you quit becoming a Ninja, you'll just be a liability if you were one.' Lee started to tear up as the students laughed at him. I couldn't let this happen any further, even if I was similar to him.

'Stop, Lee will become a Ninja even if he doesn't possess Ninjutsu, he could become a master in Taijutsu or something!' I yelled out to Neji.

'That simply ridiculous, impossible even!' Neji scoffed at my remark. 'His fate has already been decided, he will be and always be a failure!' Neji turned around shouting at my face. Then I couldn't hold back anymore. I ran at Neji with full intent to hurt him as badly as he hurt Lee's feelings. But unfortunately, I didn't have the same ability as he did so I was knocked back, alongside Lee. ' I guess there is no hope for you too, you lack anything about a Ninja. You're just a pathetic idiot and a loudmouth.' Neji said and walked away as Y/N stared at him in anger.

'One day, Neji Hyuga, I will make you take back those words!'

~Later that Day~

'I...will...show...that...showoff...who's...useless' I grunted as I punched a tree stump in anger.

Lee POV

I was walking home until I faintly hear the sound of a tree being punched and the quiet rambling of someone. I went to investigate who it was.

I turn the corner to see Y/N punching the stump of a tree with a rope around it so it wouldn't hurt as much. 'Y/N? What are you doing here?' I ask as he turns to me with a smile.

'Lee! I'm training to be on par with Neji so I can put him in his place after embarrassing us.'

Y/N said with pure determination. He was angry after what happened today but so was i.

'Y/N may I ask you something?' I say to Y/N. 'Did you mean what you said earlier?' I ask and he pauses.

'Yes of course Lee, I believe I can become a Ninja even with my lacklustre ability in each Jutsu type. I believe the only thing you need is Courage to become someone who you want to be.' Y/N said this and my eyes lit up. He spoke with pure passion and I crack a smile.

'Thank you Y/N and also please let me train beside you!' I ask and Y/N nods. We then both smile at each other as we train hard to beat our rival, Neji Hyuga, and to beat him with only Taijutsu.

~The next day~

Y/N POV

Neji was sitting on a bench during our free time between classes. I was still angry from yesterday so I approached him. 'Oi, Neji!' I yell at him as I hastily walked toward him.

'Well, you've come back to try and do the impossible. I already told you, you and Lee are not cut out to be Ninja, that's what fate has decided.' Neji replied with a smug smirk on his face.

'Shut it!' I yelled at him, at this point we had gathered a fair few spectators including Lee.

'Hmm, since you gathered this audience we might as well get this over with.' Neji says as he gets up.

I then charge at him like I did yesterday and I throw a right hand at him which he simply catches.

'If you use the same moves you will not beat me.' Neji mocks me which makes me angrier so I start swinging quicker and with more power. He starts walking back as I walk to him, still attacking him.

Neji eventually grabs both of my hands and pushes me back and says 'Gentle Fist: Vacuum Palm.'

I'm knocked back onto the floor by a wave of air and the crowd parts away from me. I quickly get up and charge at Neji but his stance changed.

'Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms!' Neji yells as he strikes me with multiple jabs to my chakra points. With the final strike, I am knocked into a tree and I cough a little blood.

Neji approaches me and says 'Don't ever approach me with the intention to fight again. You will never win.' He pulls back his leg to kick me but is stopped by someone.

'Now, now kids there is no need to fight, we're all friends' A man in a green jumpsuit says.

'No, he's no friend of mine!' Me and Neji say in unison.

'I've had enough of this' Neji says and walks away. He is accompanied by a crowd of people including the cute girl, Tenten, which pissed me off even more.

'Now Y/N, is it? There is no need to fight a fellow student.' The man told me but I quickly got back up.

'No! He deserves it, he told me and Lee to give up becoming ninjas all because it wasn't our destiny or something. I need to prove to him that me and Lee can do anything with or without Ninjutsu.' I argue to the man.

He tears up slightly and says 'Now that is what I call The Power of Youth!' He yells loudly. 'I am Guy and I will help you become the Ninja you want to be.' Guy tells me and my eyes widen.

'Thank you, Guy-sensei!' I yell,tearing up slightly and falling to my knees due to my injuries from Neji.
