Soft whimpers leave his quivering lips as he stares down at his blood-stained hands, not fully understanding why it has come to this. With the crimson liquid hitting the ground, he couldn't hear anything, or see anything, nor did he know anything, only that this, this blood was not his...

He felt no pain, yet when the blood stops dripping down from his hands he could hear soft sobs leaving a familiar's mouth. He only didn't know where it was coming from, just that it was in the distance and that there was a trail of blood leading in one dark area of this place.

"Mammon." A hushed voice whispers into his ear, soon feeling arms wrapping around his neck, pulling him back and keeping him in place. There it was again blood, the blood he couldn't point out, only that it was coming from something that was dying or dead. "Save me, you made a promise to me" the same voice whispers and he begins to feel a weight on his back and liquid falling down his neck.

His heart stops when feels cold lips pressing to his jaw, a ghostly cold kiss. A pair of hands come from behind him, cupping his face. Causing his face to be coated in a layer of warm liquid, or as he would believe it to be, blood. "You let me die, you let him harm me" the voice is becoming rough and full of hatred, and at that moment when their final words leave them, the weight falls from his back along with the hands that held him still. A shrill noise floods the room, and he soon can't stop the tears that pour from his eyes such as if they are unstoppable waterfalls.

"(Y/N)?" The name is ripped from his lips when he turns around to be faced with a paling body. He collapses to his knees just next to them as he desperately tries to hold them in his shaking arms, hoping for a response, but receives none as he clutches onto their body. "(Y/N), please don't leave me" he whimpers, pressing his face on their chest nails digging into their skin. "I need you, you're the only one I need, I promise I'll do better" his voice shatters as harsh sobs are ripping past his lips.

"You're a failure Mammon, you've always been one. A coward who can't save one human? It's pathetic really." A ringing voice is now flooding the area, he can tell who it is but refuses to look at them, as the body in his arms disappears from sight. His heart racing in fear as he is now forced to look at them once more

"I never wanted this to happen," he whimpers as he stares helplessly at them, his hands digging at the ground with a force that was so weak it made no difference what he did. After all, it was always his fault. It was his fault they were gone

"You killed me Mammon. You let me die and for that, I can never forgive you..." they say before turning away from the demon who reaches his hand out to grab them but they make no reaction as they keep walking away from him and his begging form.

It had all been true he was weak, too weak to save them from this fate. Too weak to keep the breath in their lungs and keep their heart beating. Keep the angelic smile on their sinful lips. He had only wanted to see it once more. He would do anything for them to gaze down upon him once more.

"Please, please don't leave me (Y/N)..." his voice is loud as it echoes down the narrowing walls of the room before he can say anything else they are gone...

His eyes snap open and loud ragged breaths ripped from his lips as he is now sitting up, tears freely falling down from his eyes. He hated this, watching them die and it being all his fault. It had been nearly every day he had the recurring dream of (Y/N) dying and all he could do was hold their dead body in his arms as they muttered truths at him.

The sheets of his bed were drenched in his sweat and possibly the tears that fell while he was sleeping. His hands hurriedly grab onto the sheets as he leans his back against the frame of his bed. Taking deep breaths as he tries to calm his rapidly beating heart, as its pace was causing his chest to burn and he felt as though he couldn't breathe. After a few long minutes, he felt himself able to think properly, letting his mind clear only it wasn't because the images of them in his arms, the feeling of their blood on his burning skin was stuck to every fragment of his being.

His hand is thrown to the side of his bed where his phone normally was since he was often too lazy to put it on the nightstand next to him. His shaking fingers are pressed to the screen of the phone as he repeatedly taps the dark screen hoping to shed some light into the room. He wanted a sign that he was no longer dreaming that he in fact was still awake and not trapped in that hell.

2:15 A.M. At this rate he knew he wouldn't be able to fall asleep. Not after that.

(Y/N). His mind races to them, as he thinks of his nightmare. It was eating him. The feelings of everything. The fact that they had died once before and he couldn't save them. It was ripping him apart piece by piece and he wanted nothing more for it to all stop. Were they ok? Was it all some dream or could they really be gone?

There it was, the feelings of regret eating at him, his very mind, body, and soul being crushed by these feelings.

A shaky breath leaves his lips as he pushes himself up from his bed, bare feet hitting the cold ground as he is met with the sight of his shirt thrown on a chair. His fingers clutch the fabric that is cool from the air of the night. He quickly slides the shirt over his head. Wanting to make it out of this room, wanting to be away from everything that was causing this pain in his chest. He just needed to breathe.

Stumbling down the hall as quietly as he could. He had been lucky their room wasn't that far from his. It made nights like this easier to live through if they were close to him. He only wished to hold them in his arms. With their heart beating and their breath washing down his skin. It's all he ever wanted, he only wanted them to be with him at this very minute. His body begins to shake as he stands in front of their door, not seeing the familiar light from under the door pouring into the hall. It was only dark as his hand grazed the somewhat worn doorknob. He forces himself silently into the room and his eyes make contact with the bed just across from it. The door closes behind him as he steps deeper into the cold yet warm room. Every fear left him as he watched the blankets fall and rise as they breathe. He finds himself letting out a less than silent sigh as he sits on the edge of their bed, hand resting on it as well. He can only stare at them fondly as soft snores leave them.

"(Y/N) you have no idea how glad I am" he whispers leaning over them letting his hand run through their hair. His warm fingers meet their equally warm skin and that is all he needs to feel. It was all he ever needed to feel. "I had a nightmare once again," he murmurs knowing that they won't respond as they are too deep in sleep. In the end, they don't have to. "But seeing you makes it all better" the last words leave his lips lower than any whisper he has ever muttered and any whisper he ever will in the future.

A soft smile curls on his lips as he leans down pressing a kiss to their forehead, not leaving for a second. Not wanting to let them go just yet. Once his hands leave them he feels the warmth of them still stuck on his skin and he falls down to the ground next to the bed. His head rests on it as he breathes, every once in a while he finds himself looking back at them to make sure they are still there. And each time he can feel something in him calm down. The warmth of them even from here was strong and it was as if they were comforting him without realizing they were. Closing his eyes softly as he begins to fall asleep from the clinging comfort that they were still with him.
