† Chapter Nineteen †

She quickly opened the door, so I kneeled beside her and I held her hair to help her. She coughed numerous times before regurgitating more blood.

«Jenna I feel guilty about all this», I sighed shaking my head.

«Don't worry, I already feel much better... I think...», she contradicted herself putting her head back on the toilet.

«Do you think you'll be able to not throw up on the stairs if I take you in your room? So you can lie down for a while and have the bathroom nearby»

«Yes», she nodded.

I lifted her off the ground and I took her in my arms trying not to toss her too much as I went up the steps.I gently placed her on the bed and I tucked her in, for once I wanted to be the one to show her that I cared about her.

«Do you want to sleep?», I asked, «You've been up all night»

«I'm not sleepy», she replied.

«Do you want me to stay with you?»

«Yes, please»

I approached her and sat on the empty side of the mattress, I watched her close her eyes several times, I knew she was actually exhausted but I didn't know why she didn't want to sleep...Her dull eyes were right into mine without ever taking them away. My newly awakened heart was hitting my chest enormously. Her pale face showed a little blush on her cheeks, which I thought mine did the same as soon as she smiled at me.

«Are you feeling a little better?», I asked, moving a lock of hair behind her ear.

«Yes, thank you»

«Don't thank me frog face. I'm the one who has to thank you»

«You're right», she giggled for a few seconds, then she suddenly turned serious, «Harry...»

«Yes?»

«What's it like to be a vampire? Is it that bad?»

«It depends. Let's say it won't be so bad for you, you just have to learn to control your instincts, that's all»

«What if I can't? What if I hurt someone because of my instincts?», she obviously asked.

«It's not stupid!», she interrupted me snorting.

«Whatever», I chuckled amused, «What I meant is... that I will be your Stephan and you will be my Eléna, we will figure it out togheter. Hoping that no Demon will get in the way», I was thinking about that prick of Trey, if he tried to even get close to her, he'd just be a piece of dead meat.
