She looked at me with a forced smile before she turned to Roseline. Did I do something wrong? Why did she look upset?

Did she think that I was together with Roseline?

She slowly turns around and walks away from the crowd that kept forming around me and the princess. As much as I wanted to follow her and ask why she's upset I knew I couldn't, at least not in front of so many people.

"Your highness, who is this beautiful woman standing beside you?" an old woman asked with a soft smile. I recognized the old woman whose name was Agatha. I could remember Dara telling me how much she loved to help her with her work. She looks almost as if she's in her 80's. A smile made its way to my face as looked at her.

" Everyone, I need you all to calm down. This. . . lovely woman here is Princess Roseline of France. She's here along with her parents, the King and Queen of France. They will be staying here in the kingdom for a few days. Now I hope that you all show her the respect that she deserves and let's hope she enjoys her stay here"

By the time I finished speaking everyone had huge smiles and were applauding. Why do you ask? I have no idea.

I turned towards Roseline to see a huge smile plastered on her face.

Is she ok?

"Are you ready to go? We need to head back to the palace." I mumbled plainly. She slowly nodded and started to make her way to the carriage. We both got in and waited for the carriage to take off.

After a few minutes of me being stuck with her, I was starting to wonder if I should just walk back to the palace. She's been staring at me since the moment we left the village.

"I would appreciate it if you could stop staring at me, you're making me want to leave you stranded here," I muttered plainly as I kept my gaze on the passing homes of the villagers. At the corner of my eyes, I watched her look down in embarrassment at her hands that were placed in her lap

" Sorry" she mumbles sheepishly as she continues to play with her fingers. My eyes suddenly turned to look at her. Her cheeks were tainted with the light color of red while her soft pink lips were positioned into a small smile. Her lips were truly beautiful and I was starting to wonder if they were as soft as they looked. I never took notice of how flawless and soft her skin looked.

I hadn't realized that by now a small smile made its way to my face until she met my gaze. I averted my eyes from her gaze and tried to focus on the village once again.

What is wrong with me? I shouldn't be having these thoughts about her. The only woman I should be having these thoughts about is Dara.

"So. . . since it's going to take a while for us to reach back to the palace, why not let us try to get to actually know each other," she asks nervously, moving the lock of hair that was in her face behind her ear.

"I thought I made it clear that I do not want to get to know nor do I want to be friends" I replied with a blank expression.

" I don't see a reason as to why we can't be friends," she says annoyed

"I mean I'm the princess of France, I'm beautiful, intelligent, and kind. Who wouldn't want to be friends with me?" She boasted proudly with a satisfied smirk.

Now I really want to leave her stranded.

"Would you be friends with someone lower in status?" I asked curiously

"What do you mean?" She asked confused"

"I thought you said you were intelligent," I said with a small smirk tugging at my lips.

She rolled her eyes annoyed at my statement before she began to speak.

"Of course I would be friends with someone that has a lower status," she said quietly enough for me to hear

"We both know you're lying" I scoffed

"You don't know anything," she whispered as she looked out the window with a sad expression.

Did I go too far this time? Why is every woman suddenly sad today? Maybe I should apologize, but then again I don't want her thinking I'm starting to be soft around her. I mean I still hate being around her.

"I'm sorry" I mumbled

Her head practically snapped in my direction with her mouth hanging low. I'm surprised her head didn't pop off.

" Maybe if you keep your mouth open just for a little longer a fly will pop in," I said annoyed at her staring at me.

She quickly closed her mouth and a small smile made its way onto her lips. After my apology, we hadn't spoken for the rest of the trip back to the palace which I was thankful for.

As we exited the carriage we were both stopped by my mother and Roseline's mother walking along the entrance of the palace. My mother looked at me with a soft smile while I returned a forced one.

"Did you enjoy the tour of the village Roseline?" my mother asked softly

" I did, the villagers were very kind and welcoming Your Majesty"

"I'm glad that you did," mother says

"Why don't you kids go get ready and join us for lunch," mother said with a smile

We both nodded and left the two ladies to continue their talking and headed to freshen up. As I made my way up the fair I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. I tried to ignore it but it started to make me feel uncomfortable. I looked at the corner of my eyes to see Roseline's eyes observing every move I made. I stopped in my tracks and turned towards her.

"Listen I know I'm a good looking man but the staring needs to stop," I said annoyed

"I-i'm not staring I'm just. . . observing" she stuttered as she reached out to move the invisible hair in front of her face. She was clearly embarrassed that I caught her staring at me which made a small grin appear on my face.

"I'm sure you were observing," I said sly smirk

"Whatever I'm going to freshen up," she said as her cheek continued to redden.

I shake my head as I let out a small chuckle before making my way towards my room. As I passed the servants in the palace I asked one of them to send Alberto up to my room. After I finished taking a shower I heard a faint knock by the door. I walked over and opened the door to see it was Alberto. I let him in and made sure to stick my head out of the door to make sure no one was near to listen to our conversation.

"Your highness, is there something you need?" He asked politely

" There is"

" I need you to carry a message to Dara," I said

"Tell her to reach me at our place later tonight"
