My mother seemed upset after what I had said. We know nothing about the Hanson family. Truth is I do want to marry. Not to Hanson though.
"You can't assume Flora. You need to marry a prince fit for a princess like you, right Draco?" She asked with simple directness. I hate how she has to bring him into this. "Yes ma'am." He hesitated and with the hesitation he gave made me nervous. A smile slowly crept on my mother's face knowing she won.
"Why don't you kids stay the night? Flora you can show him to his room." My mother insisted
"I think we should head back to Hogwarts. We have class tomorrow." I tried to hint to Draco but it was like he couldn't speak.
"No need sweetheart. Since you've arrived today I sent the Steward to plan your 18th ball. Wouldn't be motherly of me to not plan something actually special. I'll inform Dumbledore that it won't be necessary to attend classes tomorrow. Same as for you Draco." My mother informed with a slight smirk on her face while exiting the doors.
"Now you see why I told you to not grab the port key Malfoy. Come on now. I'll show you to your room." I addressed leading him the way.
"Flora-" he let out as I pushed him into a room. "Draco. You have to be careful what you say. My mother isn't easily pleased. You must follow everything." I cautioned. My mother isn't evil but if he says one wrong thing or does one thing to upset her he will be locked up for the rest of his lifetime.
"Sorry to ask but why don't you want to marry Hanson? Your mother made it clear you have to." He reminded acting as though he was on her side. "Draco, who would want to marry some incompetent conceded little prick set up by my mother?" I asked, "Highly doubt you'd want an arranged marriage as well Malfoy."
Footsteps crept silently along the door. Draco pushed me behind him holding his wand steadily. Pushing him aside I open the door to find Ella snooping outside the door. "Miss Lockheart! I was wondering where you've ran off to. Your sheets are ready and everything is tidied up for your liking." She stated beaming with the same warm smile she always has.
Ella walked off; continuing after that awkward confrontation I escort Draco to his room in hopes Ella doesn't report to my mother that I didn't escort him to his room sooner. She'll become suspicious of us being in another room alone.
"This is your room here. My room is just four doors down. If you need anything I'm not far." I clarified before heading off to rest.
"Wait, this is my room? Are you sure this isn't a whole manor?" He observed with disbelief expressions spreading across his face. "Yes it is, now get rest. Preparations for Balls are more exhausting than you'd think." I suggested while leaving him to get some rest.
POV- Draco Malfoy
Understanding the hardships Flora has to go through makes me feel selfish. She has it harder than I do and you could clearly see her struggle. It seems as though her mother doesn't take no for an answer.
Her mother scares me as much as lord Voldemort. Maybe just a little more. But meeting a girls mother is always the scariest.
I was escorted to the room I was staying in for the night. Her castle is more beautiful than you could imagine. Each room had extreme detailing. It feels as the walls tell a story. Every chandelier hangs crystals. Gold detailing on the trim.
Drifting to sleep I was awaken by nightmares that had appeared again. Sweat soaks through my skin and the room felt cold. I lit a candle and wandered off to the bathroom to wash up and attempts of heading back to sleep. The nightmares just kept rushing back. I didn't want to bother Flora because she needs rest and I could take care of myself.
~Morning~
POV- Flora Lockheart"Morning miss! Breakfast awaits for you." Ella informed as I wake. The gown laid out for the day is very different from all the tailored gowns I've had once before. I clean myself up and head to the dining hall for breakfast to see Draco dressed in something I wouldn't imagine him wearing. I couldn't help but let out a giggle.
"Nice of you to finally join us Flora. Late to breakfast as always I see." My mother teased.
"Sorry mother. It took me a while to get into this new gown." I apologized but couldn't help seeing Draco Malfoy in Prince attire. It could be worse. He could have poofed sleeves. "Preparations have been made. An hour from now dance lessons have been set up for Draco. Invitations have been sent." My mother informed. Draco looked offended when she assumed Draco didn't know how to dance but I saw him at the Yule Ball. He doesn't know how to. Let's all be honest here. He needs improvement.
A/n- I have exciting plans on where I'd love for this story to go! Writing has been challenging with little time I have but if you guys would like me to include anything else let me know :))
