Summary - Once again between Maggie and Negan, you have to face the consequences of your feelings.

*

This was the most uncomfortable position you had ever been in.

Maggie on your right, Negan on your left. And you were stuck right in the middle, with both of them thinking your arm would fall out in any second and being quite over protective about it. They didn't even let you carry your backpack anymore; Negan was taking it instead.

Still, even when you could easily cut the tension with a knife, it was better that they weren't talking. You knew that, the moment Negan opened his mouth; Maggie would just find more reasons to judge and hate him.

Maybe everything would've been okay if your stomach hadn't started grumbling all of the sudden.

"Heh," you chuckled awkwardly. "Sorry."

Maggie raised an eyebrow. "Are you hungry?"

"What the hell do you think? She hasn't eaten since those lunatics started hunting us down." Something in Negan's tone was defiant, like it was Maggie's fault. You clenched your teeth and hoped he would stop talking, made your way through the forest with heavy, tired footsteps.

"None of us have, Negan." You mumbled, shrugging.

"Just saying... we could've been back in Alexandria by now."

"If you want to go back, then go." Maggie groaned, sullen expression all over her face. Just as they started raising their voices at each other, exclaiming at each other about their past actions, a pair of walkers came into view. Maggie and Negan didn't seem to notice them, too invested in their fight to hear the disgusting groans coming closer.

"Uhm... guys?" you mumbled, completely ignored. You could feel your heart pounding faster in your chest with adrenaline, the proximity of the walkers now too big to ignore.

Negan scoffed loudly. "Funny how now I can go, when back in the rails I was held hostage because what? Oh, because you needed me."

Your eyes were set on the grey walkers. "...Guys?"

"We don't need you anymore." Maggie tilted her head and narrowed her eyes at him." Just go already. Disappear if you want. We'd all be better off like that."

You had to bite on your tongue to not stop Maggie from saying those words, your attention completely taken by the walkers coming closer. Grabbing your knives, you left your small group behind and rushed to the walkers, stabbing them both on the head swiftly. Only then, when the corpses feel down onto the dry leaves with a loud thump, Negan and Maggie made their way towards you; both of them preoccupied about you.

"Your arm is gonna start swelling again, (Y/N)." Negan called you out like you were a kid. Your eyebrows went up, surprised that he had the nerve to call you out.

Before you even had time to react, Maggie was checking your reddened skin as the big sister you never had. "I'll be fine." You assured them both, softly taking your arm away from Maggie's grasp.

"Yeah." Maggie mumbled, then looked up at Negan. You rolled your eyes, already knowing what was about to go down. "You should stop delaying us."

"What the- Me!?" He got all defensive, pushing his arms out with palms forward. "You are the one who's leading us to our deaths. Didn't I tell you we'd be fucked in the rails? Couldn't hear past your goddamn pride and now half of the damn group is dead because of you. But she-" He pointed at you, and you squinted your eyes while facing to the ground, knowing what was coming. "She's not gonna die out here just because you are too damn stubborn."
