It had only been two days after the incident in Trost. The 15 year old cadet who came out of that Titan alive had supposedly been able to turn into the Titan itself. He plugged the hole in Trosts walls with a boulder, giving everyone a new hope to finally be able to fight against the Titans, and a new fear that an intelligent Titan lived amongst them. Tomoko had helped control the population of Titans who had wandered inside trost and in the midst of it, ended up being grabbed. She had been resting for the time being. She lay in the infirmary, the nurse checking her torso, making sure she was healing just fine. It's not like much had happened to her, she was only grabbed, but even so a Titans grip is nothing to laugh at.
"Well, you slightly bruised one of your ribs, that's about all. You're lucky it didn't crush you completely! We need squad leaders like you out there." The nurse smiled as she wrapped Tomoko's torso. "It should heal on its own but until then, take it easy. No rough training, no sparring, and definitely no expeditions!" She said as she wrote on a slightly tattered piece of paper. "And I know you wear that corset a lot, but you'll have to hold off for now." Tomoko sighed when she heard that. Her corset was the only bra she liked wearing. It stayed in place, didn't cause pain, and was overall much more practical than a regular bra. It was much better for her constant movement and exercise.
Tomoko's thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.
"May I come in?"
It was Commander Erwin. Most likely here to report something about her squad.
"Of course." Tomoko responded. She smiled and saluted as the tall man walked into the room.
"How do you feel?"
"Better than I thought I would. Nothing but some mild pain, however I can't do much with training my squad." She sighed.
"Well that's fine, we have a different job for you today." He glanced down at Tomoko's torso. A part of her shirt was lifted up, exposing her bandages.
"What might that be?" She pondered.
"You remember Eren Yeager, correct?" He questioned, sitting down in front of her.
"Of course, he's only a cadet and the guys already famous." She laughed.
"We have a court trial over what regiment Eren is handed over to, and I'd like you to attend with Captain Levi and I." He spoke, gazing straight into her eyes.
"So between the scout regiment and?"
"The Military Police."
"I see. Mind if I speak to the boy before we defend him in a trial of life and death?" Tomoko asked. She wouldn't agree to go if she didn't know the whole story.
"Of course, Levi and I were about to go speak to him ourselves." He stood and began walking towards the door, Tomoko followed, waving goodbye to the nurse as she left. Erwin had lead her to the basement, where Levi was waiting and Eren was sleeping.
"So, that's what a ruthless killing machine looks like asleep." She muttered. Levi overheard and elbowed her, which she ignored. It wasn't long before Eren woke, abruptly sitting up in the bed he was just peacefully asleep in, a slight gasp coming from him. His eyes flickered across the room, going in between Levi, Erwin and Tomoko.
"Commander Erwin..? Captain.. Levi?" He glanced at Tomoko. He had no idea who she was. She stood right beside Levi, giving a deadpan, almost annoyed look. She didn't trust Eren and it showed. What really stood out about her was her shockingly green eyes. They glowed in hatred towards the boy. She knew she had to obey Erwin but she couldn't help but feel Eren was just another filthy Titan. No matter what she felt she knew he could be a useful weapon towards the Titans, so she understood Erwin's interest."If you have any questions feel free to ask us." Erwin finally spoke up.
"W..where am I?" He spoke softly, eyes the size of saucers as he frantically glanced around the room.
"Let's just say it's a dungeon. I thought that'd be obvious." Erwin answered, watching the boy in his frightened state.
"And to answer any further questions, you've been placed in custody of the Military Police, however we've been granted permission to speak to you." Erwin explained. Eren sat still for a second before the look of realization washed over him, he hastily looked for something in his room, to which Erwin held something up. A necklace with a key hanging off of it.
"Looking for this? Let's talk about it."
"That's my dads." He muttered
"Yes, the famous doctor Yeagers. This key specifically keeps a secret about the Titans in your homes cellar back in shiganshina." He spoke so confidently.
"Yeah, that's right. My dad told me that." He recalled what his dad had told him about the cellar, despite him knowing so little about it.
"A secret about the Titans hm? Willing to share that Yeager?" Tomoko asked, implying a sort of rudeness in her tone.
"If you know please do tell us." Erwin said blankly.
"He never told me about what was down there.
"Is that so? Or is that just some pathetic excuse of a cover story." Levi retorted.
"That's enough, we already ruled out any reason he had to lie." Erwin glanced at Levi, lowering his eyes as a signal to cut it out.
"Now please, explain your intentions to us." Erwin continued. The conversation with Eren continued for a while after until they were finally satisfied with the information he gave.
"Well, will you join us at the trial?" Erwin asked Tomoko as they walked through the halls, heading to the cafeteria.
"I suppose, I'm not exactly ecstatic about it but I think he's worth keeping alive." Tomoko chuckled slightly.
"Knowing you, it's almost game over for the MPs. You could convince a Titan to eat itself for gods sake." Erwin smiled at her comment, and Tomoko swore she saw a slight grin on Levi's face.
