Eren's court trial was in just a few minutes and the room was entirely crowded, yet no one spoke a word. Apparent fear and genuine worry was all throughout the air yet the three superiors of the Survey Corps stood calmly and confidently. Levi stood right next to Tomoko, which had made her quite tense considering the tightly packed room and knowing Levi, he'd be unhappy if she just so happened to slightly graze his spotless uniform. Her tension got worse as the person next to her shifted over towards her and gave her an even smaller space to avoid touching the both of them. She slightly stumbled while trying to readjust herself, to which Levi had grabbed her hand and brought her closer to him.
"It's a crowded room, rubbing shoulders is going to be inevitable. Don't make yourself look like a fool trying to avoid that." He whispered. Tomoko shuttered, she felt his warm breath against her neck as he whispered into her ear. Heat rising to her face. The last time someone had whispered into her ear like that was the day of her wedding.
"Sorry, sir." She glanced straight ahead, nerves finally getting to her.A sudden slam of the doors made everyone glance at the entrance to the room, there stood a confused and dazed Eren Yeager, being dragged on to the floor by two military police soldiers. Tomoko recognized one of them. She never fully learned his name, however she remembered how much of a dick he was. Tomokos expression turned into one of disgust towards the man, to which Levi had noticed. He figured he'd ask her about it later. Another door could be heard opening as Darius Zackly, the commander of all three military branches, entered the room and sat in his seat. Eren's eyes scanned the whole room as Zackly settled his papers. His gaze paused when he saw the scouts. The same three he had spoken to yesterday. Zackly spoke up, causing Eren to look back at him.
"Eren Yeager, you as a soldier swore to dedicate yourself to your cause for the good of the people, even if this implies your own death, correct?" He asked, glancing at Eren over the sheet he held in his hand.
"Yes." He spoke softly. Tomoko stared at the boy, his fear showed and his confusion even more so. The sweat beading down his face and his wide eyes frantic.
"Right, the military police requested this trial to see where your loyalties really lie, so I, as the rightful commander of the three armed forces, will be deciding whether you live, or die." He stayed looking at Eren, his face expressionless. A few small gasps could be heard from those who were unaware of the possible execution of the teenage boy.
"Any objections?"
"No sir." His voice shook, he himself didn't seem to know he could be executed because of this trial.
"Well, I appreciate the cooperation."
Zackly spoke more about the covering of Eren's existence and the anarchy that could break out no matter the situation.
"The choice will be made as of which regiment you'll be placed in, the Military Police, or the Scout Regiment. They will decide your fate. Now, the military Police will speak first."
Nile introduced himself and began speaking his reasons as to why they should take Eren.
"We would dispose of Eren without hesitation." Nile presented. He quickly glanced at Tomoko, as she was the only soldier in the room he knew well from a different regiment. He remembered how loyal she was to the Military Police and thought he could use that in his favor.
"We are aware of his actions, plugging Trosts walls in the recent attack, however we're also completely aware of the threat he holds." He kept glancing at Tomoko, who kept a firm stare straight at him as he spoke.
"To my knowledge, you weren't present during the events that occurred in Trost, no?" Zackly asked.
"That's true, but someone who was once apart of the Military Police saw it first hand, and I think it's important we hear her opinion." Nile thought he could at least try to savor some of the loyalty she had for the Military Police. Everyone's eyes were on Tomoko, and despite her currently serving Erwin, even he looked at her in anticipation. It was understandable. 4 years as a Military Police is nothing to brush over."Tomoko, would you speak your opinion on this?" Zackly glanced at her. She cleared her throat before beginning so those who didn't know her knew who to pay attention to.
"My name is Tomoko Yamada, I am currently a section commander of the Scout Regiment, however I have previously served 4 years in the Military Police." She began.
"It's true I was there the day of the event, but all I saw from Eren was his own will pushing him to fight for humanity. He spoke courageously and fought excellently." She glanced down at Eren. He was surprised she was speaking so highly of him.
"I personally believe he opposes no threat to humanity and would be a great fighting force on our side." Someone from the crowd spoke up, "are you sure you're not just reciting what your commander told you to?!" They shouted. Silence went throughout the room, waiting for Tomoko's response.
"I may be apart of the Scouts currently yes, but that also doesn't mean that my loyalty used to reside with the Military police. No matter who's side I'm on, my opinion does not change. I don't think Eren poses any threat." Tomoko firmly stated. Glaring harshly at anyone who dared even opened their mouth to speak up.
"Thank you Tomoko. Now, the scout regiment may present their case." Zackly spoke.
"Yes sir. I, Erwin Smith, believe Eren should be registered fully as a scout, and placed under the surveillance of the Survey Corps. We will use his Titan ability to our advantage to take back Wall Maria. That is all."
