Olivia Allen
Golfing with the guys was fun! The sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, and we drank pretty much the entire time. Niall shot the best out of all of us, then next was Bobby, but I managed to beat Greg.
We went home to shower up to go out for the game. I felt like I should be getting ready to watch a basketball game at a bar with my pledge class. Except I wasn't that excited about the sport we would be watching and I wasn't able to get super drunk because I'm with my boyfriend's family. So actually it's nothing like going to a game with my friends in college.
"I don't own any Derby shirts," I called into Niall's room. "What do I wear?"
"Just black I guess." He came to the doorway in his jersey and jeans with hair still wet from the shower.
"You look good." I admired him.
"So do you."
"Thanks. Niall, your hair though," I said with a bit of a laugh.
"I know," he ran his hand through it. "It's super flat today. But whatever."
"Want me to, I don't know... Blow dry it for you?"
"Does it look that bad? Lou's the only person who ever does. I don't even know how to myself."
"No, you don't look bad at all! I just thought if it's bothering you I could try doing it. It can't be that hard."
"Yeah I guess you could try. If it looks bad, I'll just shower again."
"Love your confidence in me!" I kidded. "It won't look bad. You aren't capable of looking bad. Just come in my bathroom when you have time. I'll be getting ready."
I was mid makeup when Niall came in.
"I feel like I'm going to a beauty parlor."
"Good. You should!" I laughed. "One sec, let me wash the makeup off my hands." I turned the faucet on.
"Here's a thought, just don't put it on."
"You of all people know I'm fine with going places without makeup. I just want to look nice to spend time with your family."
I put a little gel in his hair and dried it while brushing it up. Of course it didn't look as good as when Lou does it but it did look nice. I got some volume into it. He's the cutest thing and I just kept running my hands through his fluffy hair.
"It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!" I joked, remembering watching Despicable Me a million times with the kids I babysat.
Niall started cracking up then got into character himself. "Does this count as annoying?" He did his best impersonation of Agnes popping her cheeks and clicking her tongue. It was hilarious and spot on. I laughed way too loud and for way too long but one of the amazing things about being with Niall is you never feel like there can be too much laughter.
Since he was now ready he plopped himself down on an empty space of the bathroom counter and talked to me while I finished getting ready. I ended up wearing a flowy black tank with my jeans. We all piled into a car to head to the pub for the game.
When we got there Niall informed me that it's not a real Irish pub because of the televisions but he said it's close enough and he promised to take me to a real one sometime.
I stayed relatively quiet during dinner just because I was the odd one out. They are a close knit family and I'm the stranger being thrown into the mix for a weekend.
I loved observing how his parents are. They are obviously divorced and his mom has remarried but it isn't weird. Maura's husband Chris has no problem with Bobby being there and Bobby just seems happy she's happy.
