Olivia Allen

"Thanks, Mom." I grabbed my lunch plate that had a sandwich, grapes, and chips.

"Yeah thanks, Mom." Harry grinned as he got his.

My mom just chuckled, unsure of how to respond to Harry.

We all ate lunch and made afternoon plans.

"I think we should play some tennis to get ready for tomorrow," Grace said.

"I'm in," Niall agreed. "I don't want to get crushed tomorrow."

"Well you're going to. Harry and I are going to win it all," Grace said.

"You guys already partnered up?" Niall looked offended. "Not fair! I call Liv!"

"They might make us draw names from a hat," I said. "I think that's what we did last year."

He gave a joking huff.

"I need to run to Target," I lied. "But I can meet you all wherever," I offered.

"I need some things from Target too. Can we just all go and then go play?" Grace suggested.

"I don't think Niall and Harry need to be seen at the Tulsa Target. As far as we know, no one knows they're here."

"Oh." She frowned. "Well can I give you a list of stuff to get me?"

"I guess." I gritted my teeth and tried to be nice even though I won't really be going to Target, I'm going to the doctor. "What do you need?"

"No!" Niall butted in. "I mean... Liv just meet us at the tennis courts, okay? Sound good?" He was talking really fast. "Great, okay, let's go get ready." He stuffed his sandwich in his mouth and took the plate to the sink. "Be ready in five, alright? Hurry up!" With that he was gone.

Note to self: never ask Niall to help me with a lie ever again. He sucks at it, apparently.

"Well that was weird."

Niall's unconventional and downright bad tactic amazingly worked though. Grace forgot she needed stuff from Target and they headed to the courts and I headed to the doctor.

When I got into the room, the nurse told me to put on the gown and said the doctor would be in soon.

I don't know why I'm nervous but I am. It's really cold in here and there are pictures of all the different stages of pregnancy on the wall. I passed a woman about to pop on my way in and it made me happy and terrified all at once.

There was a knock on the door and I jumped out of my thoughts.

"All dressed?"

"Yep." My voice came out as a whisper so I repeated myself. "Yeah, come in!"

"Well as dressed as you can call yourself in that gown. Sorry, I know it's awful. Anyway, hi Miss Olivia! How are you doing?" Dr. Keaton asked.

She's a super nice woman and not intimidating at all. But still, I can feel my pulse in my fingers as I grip the edge of the paper covered bed.

"Good. How are you?"

"Can't complain! Now, you weren't scheduled for anything regular so I take it something has changed or a concern has come up?"

"Well not exactly a concern. But I, um... I want to get on birth control."

"Do you have any irregularity with your period?"

"Nope."

"Have you recently become sexually active?" There's no judgement in her voice, just professionalism.
