Peter Parker.

I sighed kicking my legs backwards and forwards, swinging them under the chair I was sitting on.

My eyes glanced at the clock, ten past one. He's late.

Sighing again and moving my head back so it touched the wall I stretched my legs out. He was supposed to be picking me up for a day out now that I've earned it.  He was supposed to be picking me up at ten TO one. He was twenty minutes late.

Man if only I had my phone I wouldn't have minded so much but it's boring sitting and standing in front of a blank white wall. I used to count the ceiling tiles of the specks that wherein the pattern of the floor, but it always made the time seem longer.

The bleep bloop of radio and the jingle of keys alerted me to someone walking down the hallway.

I looked up to see it was one of the front desk ladies. She sashayed down the hallway with a tight smile, she held her radio up to her fave and loudly whispers "I have eyes on the boy."

Jesus Christ, I'm mentally ill not a fucking criminal.
I scoffed out loud and rolled my eyes.

She gave me tight smile, "come on then Mr Parker." Her voice was the same as the office staff in schools.

I gave her a fake smile back and stood up, following her out, sliding my hands into my jogging bottoms.

The door opened and I shield my eyes for a second before they get used to the light from outside. I was handed a pair of slip-on trainers and a fleece (with the hood string pulled out).

The man who was meeting stood up with a smile, I hunched over in response. I haven't quite forgiven him yet. Asshole.

When we met he gave me an awkward shoulder hug. "Ready to go out?" He asked.
"I want a soda," I replied.

We both turned towards the exit. "Okay, we'll get you a soda".

The weather was very nice, the sun shone brightly in the sky and a warm breeze touched our cheeks.

" So where do you want to go first?" He asked. I shrugged.

"Okay... Why don't we grab some snacks and walk around a bit? " he suggested. I shrugged again.

"Look, Peter" I cut him off with a harsh look. He nodded and took my hand and we started walking.

There was a small supermarket which was a few blocks away and we made our way there. New York was busy, of course. It always was and I was struggling to keep up and kept scraping my feet and tripping over my shoes.

I felt my chest tighten and my heart stutter. My legs involuntarily froze and my shoulders clammed up. I shut my eyes tight and tried to squeeze into myself.

I didn't feel the gentle hand on my shoulder, guiding me to the edge of the pavement, away from the road. I only just registered the warmth that wrapped around me and soothing weight on my back rubbing circles.

Rubbing the tightness of my chest away. Slowly I felt my arms relax, my jaw(which I didn't even realise I had clenched ) unclench, my head to clear a small bit, and my heart went back to normal. Slowly my breathing became steady.

When It felt like I could finally take a deep breath I then fully recognised someone was hugging me. Warmth spread through me as I wrapped my arms around them.

"It's okay. Your safe." I hadn't realised how hard I was sobbing until I choked on my tears. I was gently rocked backwards and forwards.

He gently hushed me and whispered soft words of encouragement. His warmth never left me, not after I had long since stopped crying. I clung to him scared to let him go.

"Can we get a soda now?" I whispered. He nodded.

"Come on, we can take it slow." He offered me his hand and I took it he gently leads me back to the stream of people in the street and we integrated into it.

After a short walk, we arrived at a supermarket. It's bright sliding doors with its harsh air conditioning blasting your face. Screechy wheels of trollies screeching as they were rolled around. A screaming toddler sat near a display of toys clinching onto one. Their parents begging with them to stop and come with them.

A group of students came were there with a long list and their phones open to the calculator huddled near the baking aisles bickering amongst each other about prices and whatnot.

People browsing the beer and wine aisles, some teens loitering and "viewing" the snack area.

Then we get to the candy and soda area there are only a few people in there. "Peter?" "Mmh" I acknowledge. "Full sodas only okay? None of this diet or zero ones okay? If your gonna have a drink at least it be a decent one, not that disgusting free stuff, okay? " I let out a small chuckle and nodded and headed to my favourite.

I picked up a couple of bottles of lemonade and two cans of Dr Pepper. I don't care what anyone says Dr pepper is amazing and I Will be throwing webs. Anyway.

Just as I turned to Tony he looked behind me with a smile. "Sally!" He greeted.

I turned to look behind me. There stood a woman with brown hair and blue eyes, she carried a blue tote bag with a blue jacket over her shoulders. She looked over at us gave a warm smile. "Tony! Hi!"

Next to her was a boy who was taller than her by quite a bit, and around my age give or take a few years either side. He had jet black hair which was a messy pile on his head and deeper blue eyes which had heavy bags underneath. His shoulders were slouched giving him the appearance that he was shorter than he was, his hands stuffed inside his jean pockets. Oddly enough he had a capped pen behind his left ear.

As Tony and "Sally" went on with the idle chat it was a heavy silence between the boy and me.

We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We made eye contact.
We looked away.

We looked around us.
We looked at each other.
We made eye contact.
We looked away.

"So this must be Percy?"
"Yeah, is this Peter?"

We looked directly at each other this time.

His eyes gave me a sceptical glare as his eye ran over me.

"Peter, say hello." What am I five now? I shot Tony and dark look before returning my gaze to Percey.

"... Hi"... Sally gave him a nudge with her foot. "Sup." He rocked backwards and forwards on his toes.

"So... I'll see you on Tuesday?" Tony asked. "Yes, I'll see you there."

They both turned and headed to another aisle.

"... Never make me do that again." He sighed and put an arm around my shoulder.

"Come on you, we have much to do today."
