I couldn't move! How in hell was I supposed to go over there and have a conversation with Mr. Fabulous? I've never even been in the same room with one of his kind! What if I start stuttering like a broken tape recorder? What if momoa starts talking about my embarrassing childhood?
Jess was already walking over to them without the slightest hint of panic.
Alright Sam! You can do this! Get these piddling little questions out of your head! I took one step and by the time I took another one, the engaging man had engaged himself in a mobile phone conversation. Do you know the saying 'Saved By The Bell'? Well in this case I was saved by the buzz in his pant pocket. I grinned to myself, seized the opportunity and made a beeline for the door when he wasn't looking.
" Oof!" I bumped into a really tall chick on my way out.
"Watch where you're galloping you horse!"
"If you're gonna compare me to a running animal, I'd prefer the unicorn." With that I walked out of the witch's sight. I didn't want to be found at the moment so I headed to the place where any woman goes to find tranquility, the powder room.
I wasn't surprised one bit to find a huge chandelier dangling from the comfort station's ceiling. I looked at my blood drained face in the mirror and decided it was best if I put on some blush and lip gloss, if only I had my purse but I left it in the mustang.
" I thought I'd find you here. Why'd you run out like that?" Jess asked on entering my serenity chamber after five minutes of me being there.
"Was it that obvious?"
"Was what so obvious?"
Realizing that Jess still hadn't assessed my sudden actions in the kitchen I let the subject drop.
" Nothing."
Jess gave me a 'You know you can't lie to me' look.
" C'mon Sam, we both know what a terrible liar you are. What's up?"
"Nothing Jess. I just had to pee, so yeah...did you talk to him?"
"Yess Sam! You should have been there. The man's voice is smoother than marble but harder than granite at the same time. He's a real gentleman!" Jess said clearly swooning at his remembrance.
"So he's not your type."
" What? Why wouldn't he be?" She blurted out after I burst her dream cloud.
"Two reasons" I said holding up two fingers up "One, judging by your previous sugar daddys, a gentleman doesn't seem to fit your ideal lover's profile. And two, Mr. Dashing could might as well be thirty five years old! Must I remind you of your age?"
"It's Mr. Dashwood, Ethan Dashwood to be precise. Pretty hot huh?"
"Oh! What else do you know about him?"
"How foolish of me! How could I forget the best part? The man's the CEO of Golden Edges!"
" O Boy!"
"I know! I can't believe I met him! Oh and before I forget anything else, your mom wanted me to tell you that it is somewhat a big deal for us to meet him. So I'm guessing she won't rest till you've accomplished that task."
"Why on Earth would he matter to us? Its not like he's gonna ship us off to Uganda for not acknowledging his presence by talking to him!"
"Wow! Relax my little bunny!"
" It's unicorn."
"What?" she asked raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow "Nothing." I said in response.I didn't want to mention my encounter with Miss Grumble Goose from hell.
