"Wakey-wakey, eggs and bakey!" Jess said.
"Five more minutes" I said trying to push her face away.
"Whoa! I can't wait for five more minutes. I have to hear all about the person you supposedly saw last night!" She said with a giggle.
I shot up from my sleep and directed my bemused eyes at her. "Supposedly saw? Did momoa tell you that?" I asked with annoyance.
"Yeah! Your mom said it was all because you wanted to cover up the fact that you broke one of the glasses she was gifted on her wedding day." Jess said with a giggle.
"I can't believe momoa isn't taking me seriously! Alright I'm getting up. I'll see you downstairs in twenty minutes." With that I left my room and stepped into the bathroom.
I stared at my red eyes in the vanity mirror while I got my facts straight about last night. A: there was definitely a man in the house. B: it was a man dressed in total darkness. C: He is sabotaging me for God knows what reason and was definitely not here to rob the house. And he most definitely did not drop the glass by accident at exactly 3 am! I watched as my eyes grew a size bigger as I finally got around to figuring out what the last and final fact was, the man had the keys to my bedroom!
I rushed back to my bedroom to look for my keys. They were not on either side of the door! What could he possibly want with them?
Overcome by defeat, I silently prepared myself for a shower. My usual singing in the shower was replaced by the kind of silence you would experience if you sat by a waterfall luxuriated in your own thoughts.
I walked out of the bathroom drying my wet hair with a towel. I made my way downstairs and was welcomed by momoa and Jess's mockery. I ignored them and resumed my previous search for the missing keys.
"What are you looking around for? Don't worry, I already cleaned up the pieces of glass." momoa said with a smile on her face that still had the remnants of mockery.
"Sam, come and have a seat. Breakfast is almost over." Jess said.
I took a seat next to her "Why are you here anyway? I didn't know we had a dress-up session scheduled for today too. And besides I'm not in the mood to go out anywhere." I told.
"Sorry to burst your bubble Miss Grumble but apparently there is a very important meeting at the Golden Edges today. Didn't you see Addy's email?" Jess said.
"He actually emailed us? God how was I supposed to know. I just woke up a while ago and since when do you check your emails regularly?" I asked.
I hopped off the stool I was sitting on and rushed upstairs to fetch my laptop. There was a new email from an Aditya Geethesh.
Dear Samantha Robinson,
Sorry for the short notice but Mr. Ethan Dashwood has requested an urgent meeting for all journalists which include you and Miss Goodwill today at 4 pm. Even though your work will commence from next Monday onward, I have been told to notify you that this meeting requires everyone's complete physical and mental presence.
Yours sincerely,
Aditya Geethesh
So he does have the time to send out emails. So I replied back saying:
Dearest Addy,
Glad to know, thank you very much. I'll be there. But I am more interested to know exactly why you did not have the time to send me the email I asked for.
Not so sincerely,
Sam
"What email was Addy supposed to send you?" I nearly banged my head against the ceiling when Jess suddenly popped that question.
