Did he just kick me out politely? He could have just said "Jessica oh superior one, may I have the pleasure of a private tête-à-tête with you on my loveseat? Sam you can just pass into oblivion." He even had someone bring in drinks! I didn't stick around long enough to find out what he had planned in mind for her because I didn't want him to enjoy the sight of my expression of perplexion mixed with slight jealousy that he had caused my face to conjure up. It didn't come as a surprise to me that Jess had the upper hand when it came to people, but for him to reject me on my face? He has officially been demoted in my eyes!
I tried to take my mind off of what could be going on in his pothole by silently criticizing the snobby looking people around me. It wasn't long before someone decided to open the door to Dashingville. Mr. Geethesh, the waiter walked out with a few files, closing the door behind him.
"Good afternoon Miss Robinson, my name is Aditya Geethesh, Mr. Dashwood's personal secretary but you can call me Addy." He said introducing himself. He forgot to mention the waiter part though.
"Hey! Nice to meet you Addy. You can just call me Sam." I said with my armor of self-control still intact. Why's he being nice to me all of a sudden? Just a half hour ago he treated Jess and I like we were one eyed high school girls.
"I have been informed that you and Miss. Goodwill have been offered jobs as journalists."
"Yeah, but I guess he's got much more important things to discuss with Jess." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Don't be too disheartened my dearest, you'll never know what may come out of it for you." He said adopting a funny tone and a look indicating that he knew what he was talking about. I'm actually starting to like this guy, he doesn't seem too bad.
I continued having a long conversation with him while he typed away in his computer. Addy later helped me with the introductions.
"Sam, meet Quetta Naida, she covers the latest celebrity news and if you ever get bored Quetta here is the one you need for all the juicy gossip." Addy said introducing her to me. All I could concentrate on was how her purple hair was braided in Marley style. I really have got to try some the African hair braiding techniques!
"Nice to meet you. I look forward to hearing what you have to say." I said acknowledging her.
"Girl, you don't need to be so standoffish with me. You know, as long as you're not gonna be one of'em chicks who act like they've got a glitter pipe shoved up their ass, Imma be cool with you. That's just how I roll. So, we cool?" She asked inquiringly.
"Yeah, we cool." I said with a slight giggle. I was then introduced to a man with a very muscular frame named Hayden Hawke.
"Yeah, I know her name's Sam." He said. I couldn't help but wonder if I had found my very first stalker. There was no way this guy could have known my name.
"Oh! Addy already sent out some of your details along with Jessica's." Hayden said looking at my puzzled expression. The man could have me dazed for days with his gorgeous smile if it wasn't for the sensible part of my brain which was yet to be affected by it.
"What kind of information?" I asked still trying to clear up the fog in my mind.
"Just your name, contact number, address and other basic information. It's company protocol so I had to do it." Addy said.
"But how would you know all that unless......unless those files you brought in from Ethan's office contained mine and Jess's resumes." I said speculating. Addy nodded his head at me in response.
We went around some of the desks so Addy could introduce me to their owners. Most of them seemed snobbishly nice while the others were clearly just plain evil. I figured if I got to know them better they might just turn out to be good enough to provide me a normal office experience, at least I hoped so. But I wasn't betting on the same for the ones who clearly showed their detestation towards me. One particular one got on my nerve.
