"Dad look at my grades so far. I've been eating it up it in my classes" you said showing your dad with a smile

"That's great but don't get too ahead of yourself. You'll never know how tough it'll get at some point" he said

"Why can't you just celebrate my accomplishment?" You said rolling your eyes at him with a defeated spirit

You and bloo had been doing amazing in college so far and could tell things were going to go well the first semester. You could see your associates degree sitting in the palm of your hands and you weren't going to let anyone ruin it.

"Well glad you're doing good and I hope you continue to study" your mother said making sure you were aware your efforts weren't going unnoticed

"Thanks" you said with a warm smile back to her. You and her had become much closer to each other but most importantly worked on healing trauma that had taken place so that you both could move on.

"By the way I got you a gift" your dad said going to get it

"What is it?" You said with a raised brow almost cutting him off with how fast you responded

"Well if you'd wait I could show you" he said with a chuckle as he grabbed a bag with a common cell service logo on the bag

"No way! You got me the new iPhone I've been asking for?!" You said in shock. You had been wanting it so bad but couldn't afford it which left you stuck with an older model you were tired of

"Yep! I sure did. It's all yours" your dad said handing it to you

"Thank you so much!" You said hugging him and smiling. No time was wasted turning it on and as soon as it lit up you started to set it up. First thing you wanted to do was face time bloo since you couldn't on your old one, due to the camera being broken.

"Now before you get too excited just know we have rules" your dad said making you sigh and say "okay what?"

"If we sense any suspicious behavior we need to investigate" your dad said

"I'm almost an adult why am I being treated like a 12 year old?" You responded

"Yes you're almost an adult. When you turn 18 you can do as you please but for now you live under our roof and you are not 18" your mother said

"This is unfair! I've been doing everything right can I at least have privacy for once?!" You said getting frustrated

"We're not trying to invade your privacy we just want you to stay safe" your mom said

"I am safe! I've been safe for awhile if y'all haven't noticed! And you know what? The only reason I wasn't safe was because of you guys! That's okay tho, thanks for the phone" You said before grabbing it and leaving out to your room.

That definitely ruined your mood for the entire day. How could they suddenly decide to push strict parenting and discipline on you after abandoning you for such a long time. No matter how you viewed it the situation didn't seem fitting for them to play "perfect mom and dad" all of a sudden. You very well could be acting like a brat but were you really?

"Im still FaceTiming bloo" you said typing in his number while plopped on your bed. It rung a few times before he answered and the relief of your stresses going away hit immediately.

"Your parents must've got you a new phone spoiled brat" he said with a laugh

"Yes they did! But they telling me they gotta check it if they suspect anything suspicious" you said with an eye roll putting your earplugs into the device so Bloo's voice wouldn't be heard.
