A friend is defined as someone who is there for you and believes in the concept of "You've got my back, and I got yours." This can also apply to those who are older than you. Befriending your teacher in any occasion, will always guarantee your success whether it's in elementary, high school or college.
Now, when I say "your teacher," you're going to ask why you would have someone who's older as a friend? But, I ask that you hear me out. Think of when you're faced with a bully. The best course of action would be telling an adult. If said adult is someone who knows that you wouldn't condone violence, the situation would be handled delicately in your favor. Also, as you may know, in today's society, relationships trump academics. With that being said, you would benefit a whole lot from this, if you have strong student-teacher bonds. Why you ask? Because those same teachers that you ward off like a porcupine, could potentially set you up with an amazing paying job simply because of their recommendation and knowledge of your exemplary character.
Overall, it may seem like it's a pointless idea to take my advice, but you have to think about what can happen in the future. There can be endless possibilities offered to you through having a teacher as your friend or supporter. were and amazing and respectful student towards your teacher, because like the late Mahatma Gandhi- "Turn your obstacles into opportunities and your problems into possibilities."
